Job Description

Role Summary

  • The (Graduate) Medical & Scientific Affairs Intern supports the GMSA Indonesia team through evidence gathering, medical content development, and operational support activities. The role provides exposure to pharmaceutical medical affairs functions through participation in projects related to scientific communication, medical education, cross-functional initiatives, and medical operations.
  • The intern works closely with Medical Advisors, MSL and cross-functional colleagues to support evidence-based medical activities while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

 

Responsibilities and Primary Activities

Scientific Research and Evidence Gathering

  • Conduct structured literature reviews and evidence searches using scientific databases and publicly available resources.
  • Support development of scientific summaries, evidence decks, literature reviews, disease-state overviews, and medical briefing materials.
  • Assist in reviewing clinical practice guidelines, treatment landscapes, unmet medical needs, and evolving standards of care.
  • Contribute to evidence synthesis activities supporting medical strategy and scientific communications.

Pipeline and Medical Intelligence

  • Support monitoring of internal and external pipeline developments.
  • Conduct landscape assessments of emerging therapies, biomarkers, and treatment paradigms.
  • Summarize key findings from major medical congresses, publications, and regulatory announcements
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal pipeline and competitor intelligence resources
  • Support preparation of disease area updates and scientific newsletters for internal stakeholder


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs colleagues on strategic and operational projects.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives involving Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, and Clinical Research teams where appropriate.
  • Assist with data collection and background research required for medical planning activities.
  • Participate in internal discussions and project meetings to gain understanding of medical affairs processes and priorities.

Medical Operations and Event Support

  • Support planning and execution of internal medical meetings, educational programs, and scientific events.
  • Assist with development, review, and organization of meeting materials and content.
  • Support logistical coordination and administrative tracking related to medical activities.
  • Help maintain document repositories, trackers, and project management tools.
  • Assist with preparation of post-event summaries, insights reports, and project documentation.

 

Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience

 

Minimum

  • Fresh Graduate with MD, PharmD, Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science or related disciplines
  • Strong academic background, proven by GPA
  • Demonstrated experience conducting scientific research, literature reviews, or research projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
