Generic Job Description (not Job Level specific):

  • The PC board design Engineer / Architect assists engineers in the design and development of complex and detailed layouts of printed circuit boards.
  • Collaborates in developing state-of-the-art designs of new or modified, high-density, printed circuit boards.
  • Establishes design standards and configurations.
  • Works from preliminary schematics, part lists and basic description of the board function, configuration and arrangement as defined by engineering.
  • Trains drafters in the completion of drawings and specifications.
  • May perform the checking of design layouts and detailed drawings.

Requirements

1. Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design and analysis

2. Technical Skills

  • Familiar with the full hardware development process (Design → Verification → Validation)
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • High-speed signal design (Signal Integrity)
    • Power design (Power Integrity / PMIC)
    • PCB layout and SI/PI analysis
    • Semiconductor testing or ATE (Automatic Test Equipment) architecture
  • Proficient with related design and simulation tools (e.g., Cadence, Allegro, ADS, HFSS)

3. System Integration & Testing

  • Strong hardware debugging and issue analysis skills
  • System integration experience is a plus

4. Language Skills

  • Intermediate or above proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a global team environment

5. Work Experience

  • Typically 5–10+ years of relevant experience (for senior or principal roles)
  • Experience in semiconductor, consumer electronics, or server hardware industries is preferred

6. Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Good teamwork and cross-functional communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
