About this Corporate Affairs role at TopFloor
Our Client in the Tertiary Education Sector is looking to hire talent in Corporate Affairs who will manage institutional reputation, building stakeholder relations, directing internal and external communications and provide executive support to the Vice Chancellor.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Management: Build and nurture strategic relationships with government bodies, industry partners, alumni, donors, and the local community.
- Communications & PR: Oversee institutional branding, draft press releases, handle media relations, and manage the university’s public image.
- University-Industry Linkages: Facilitate collaborative research, student industrial placements, and staff exchange programs with corporate partners.
- Internal Communication: Keep internal stakeholders informed of key administrative developments, policy shifts, and institutional achievements.
- Crisis Management: Monitor emerging public issues and coordinate rapid, aligned responses to protect the university's reputation.
- Events & Protocol: Plan major university events, including graduations, public lectures, exhibitions, and stakeholder meetings
- Executive Support: Manage the Vice-Chancellor's diary, appointments, meetings, engagements and official commitments.
- Brand Management: Work closely with the Marketing Department to ensure alignment between institutional communications, brand messaging, advertising and public engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, English, International Relations or a related field.
- A Master's degree in these fields is preferred
- Minimum of 7 years' relevant professional experience, preferably in executive support, corporate communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives or working closely with senior management.
- Strong experience in professional writing, correspondence preparation and stakeholder communication.
- Experience within higher education, government, corporate institutions or similarly complex organisations will be an added advantage.
- Experience handling confidential, sensitive or reputational matters will be highly desirable.
