CNC Machinist / Programmer
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: Up to $33/hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 56 hours/week
Shift: 1st Shift
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This position requires strong blueprint-reading skills, precision machining experience, and the ability to consistently meet tight dimensional requirements.
What You’ll Do
Review and interpret machining drawings and technical specifications.
Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills.
Develop and modify programs using G-code.
Work with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls; experience with every control is not required.
Machine parts to tight tolerances, including requirements as close as 0.0005".
Inspect finished work using calipers, micrometers, and dial bore gauges.
Maintain consistent part quality and dimensional accuracy.
Follow established safety practices while working around heavy industrial equipment.
Maintain reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.
Work scheduled hours, including occasional Saturday shifts.
Lift up to 50 lbs. when required.
Qualifications
Previous experience with CNC programming and machine operation.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and machining prints.
Experience with CNC mills and/or lathes.
Knowledge of G-code programming.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision.
Ability to follow safe work practices in a heavy industrial setting.
Dependable attendance and willingness to work the required schedule.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on machining position in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working extended shifts and handling materials up to 50 lbs. when required.
