Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) manufactures and sells material handling solutions for customers throughout the world. Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG), the material handling equipment business unit of TICO, focuses on the development and sales for material handling solutions such as forklifts, energy storage, digital technologies, and automation.

Recently the decision was taken to establish a TICO Pune Development Center for the forklift business in Pune, India. This newly established organization will support the TMHG engineering teams worldwide with development centers located in Europe, North America, and Japan.

Role description

As an Engineering Analyst, you will apply engineering analysis and simulation techniques to support the development, optimization, and validation of material handling equipment and related systems. You will collaborate with a dynamic and diverse team to achieve shared goals.

This position is with the TICO Pune Development Center, a sister company of Vanderlande, both of which are part of the parent organization, TICO. This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Group Leader of Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities / Key Activities:

The Engineering Analyst (CAE Engineer) will specialize in finite element methods/analysis and will have the following responsibilities:

  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborating with design engineers to understand product requirements and analysis needs.
  • Defining load cases and boundary conditions based on product operating conditions and design requirements.
  • Creating finite element models of components, assemblies, and complete vehicles.
  • Performing structural finite element analyses using appropriate analysis methodologies.
  • Evaluating stress, deformation, and structural performance of components and systems.
  • Conducting fatigue assessments of welded structures using appropriate engineering methods.
  • Performing static and dynamic nonlinear analyses as required.
  • Supporting design optimization activities by providing analysis-based recommendations.
  • Interpreting and documenting analysis results.
  • Preparing technical calculation reports and presenting conclusions to engineering stakeholders.

Location & Travel:

This is a full time (100%), in-person role located at our Pune, India office – ideal for those who thrive in a hands-on, team-oriented environment. Travel is not required.

Education & Experience

We are searching for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or similar (focused on applied mechanics/strength of materials), or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in engineering analysis, simulation, or structural calculation activities
  • Strong understanding of strength of materials, structural mechanics, and finite element methods/analysis.
  • Experience with Altair HyperWorks, OptiStruct, or equivalent finite element analysis tools.
  • Experience evaluating fatigue performance of welded structures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within global engineering teams.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience in the forklift, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.
