Role Overview
In this key outbound role as a Business Development Executive, you will connect directly with accounting firm owners and managing partners whose practices match the targeted acquisition criteria of active corporate buyers. By initiating high-value commercial conversations and identifying strategic transition opportunities, you will directly drive deal flow and arrange qualified consultative meetings for senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Target Identification & Prospecting: Review detailed acquisition criteria provided by corporate buyer clients to identify matching accounting practices based on revenue, location, firm size, service lines, and structure.
- Executive Outbound Outreach: Execute high-volume, targeted outbound telephone contact with firm owners, founders, and managing partners stored within the company CRM.
- Value Proposition Delivery: Introduce the advisory firm's buy-side network, articulating the compelling strategic and financial advantages of exploring a sale, merger, strategic partnership, or capital investment.
- Consultative Discovery: Engage decision-makers in targeted conversations around succession planning, retirement options, valuation interest, and long-term business strategy.
- Meeting Generation: Successfully convert outbound interactions into qualified, high-value introductory meetings for the Practice Sales Manager.
- Pipeline Management & Re-engagement: Consistently track and nurture past leads, re-engaging firm owners when new buyer mandates match their specific practice profile.
- CRM Integrity: Accurately record all call logs, qualifying metrics, owner feedback, and meeting bookings within the company CRM.
- Performance Alignment: Collaborate closely with sales leadership to prioritize key outreach campaigns and consistently meet daily and weekly call, conversation, and meeting-booked targets.
Requirements
Qualifications (Must-Have):
- Outbound Expertise: Proven track record and comfort in conducting high-volume outbound business-to-business calling campaigns.
- Domain Knowledge: Prior outbound business development or appointment-setting experience within professional services, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), accounting, or recruitment.
- Executive Communication: Outstanding verbal communication skills with the poise and confidence required to engage senior partners and business owners.
- Qualifying & Discovery: Superior ability to ask strategic qualifying questions, uncover business motivations, and capture key organizational data.
- Persistence & Organization: Strong organizational and lead-management skills, displaying high persistence in pipeline follow-up.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems to manage contact pipelines and track activity metrics.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Deal Awareness: Familiarity with basic commercial business models, buy-side acquisition criteria, or succession planning discussions.
