The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a Business Development Coordinator to help connect businesses and community partners with meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
This professional role combines relationship-building, business development, marketing, contract coordination, and program support. The Coordinator will serve as an important link between businesses, vendors, funders, participants, families, agency staff, and community organizations. Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Hourly Pay: $25.20

Business Development & Employment Opportunities
- Establish contracts with community businesses that can provide employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Seek out new work opportunities through professional affiliations, memberships, networking, and community connections.
- Develop relationships with funding, accreditation, and networking sources that support the vocational program.
- Work with vendors to negotiate contracts, make necessary updates, establish specifications, and define quality standards for successful contract completion.
- Contribute to initiatives designed to expand the vocational program.
- Identify and develop opportunities that allow participants to pursue gainful employment.
Community Outreach & Marketing
- Represent and promote vocational services through presentations, marketing efforts, professional affiliations, memberships, and community organizations.
- Develop marketing services and materials that increase awareness of the agency's vocational programs.
- Build productive working relationships with participants, families, businesses, vendors, funders, supervisors, co-workers, and other community partners.
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders to support successful program and employment outcomes.
Work Coordination & Program Support
- Prepare and distribute work orders to appropriate parties and ensure job expectations are clearly communicated.
- Train personnel on job specifications and requirements related to contracted work.
- Complete agency forms, documentation, billing records, and time studies accurately and as required.
- Develop, implement, and work toward achieving program goals and objectives established through the Outcomes Management Plan.
- Monitor program expenses and maintain operations within established budget parameters.
- Help ensure vocational services operate in accordance with sound business practices and industry standards.
Compliance & Quality
- Maintain current knowledge of agency, Vocational Services, and program-specific policies and procedures.
- Follow applicable standards and requirements established by CARF, DVRS, DCF, DDD, DOE, and DOL.
- Cooperate with agency personnel and representatives from the Department of Human Services, Department of Children and Families, and other state or federal regulatory agencies during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What You'll Bring
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related area.
Experience & Required Credentials
- At least two years of experience in the sales/marketing field.
- Valid NJ driver's license with no more than five points.
- Successful completion of all required Division of Developmental Disabilities pre-service trainings.
- Ability to successfully complete and maintain valid Crisis Management Training.
Required Screening
The employee must meet and maintain the requirements to successfully pass a state and federal criminal history check, Central Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry (CARI) check.
The employee must also comply with and successfully pass all required pre-employment and active employment drug screening processes as a condition of employment.
