Job Role: Bookkeeper

Compensation range: $1,500 AUD - $2,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: A well-established Australian business in the fire protection industry that is currently establishing a new venture. They are specialising in fire protection solutions for commercial and industrial properties. 

Role Overview: We're looking for a Bookkeeper with strong Xero experience and a solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping practices. You'll play a key role in setting up the accounting system, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring the business starts with efficient and compliant bookkeeping processes.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Set up and maintain the company's Xero account.
• Record and reconcile financial transactions.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, ensuring they are accurate and sent on time.
• Process bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Prepare BAS information and support payroll processing.
• Maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end bookkeeping tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven bookkeeping experience supporting Australian businesses.
• Strong hands-on experience with Xero (required).
• Experience preparing and managing customer invoicing within Xero or a similar accounting system.
• Good understanding of Australian bookkeeping practices, including GST.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
