POSITION SUMMARY

Help shape the employee experience through better benefits, compensation, data, and Total Rewards. We are seeking a Benefits & Compensation Analyst to join our Human Resources team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role supporting benefits, compensation, Total Rewards, HR analytics, compliance, and employee experience.

The Analyst will work with employees, managers, Payroll, Finance, HR leadership, and external vendors to ensure our benefits and compensation programs are accurate, competitive, compliant, and easy for employees to understand. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys both working with people and working with data and wants to expand their experience across the broader Total Rewards function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, wellness, and leave programs.
  • Monitor benefit eligibility, enrollments, qualifying life events, status changes, and terminations.
  • Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding benefits, eligibility, enrollment, and Total Rewards programs.
  • Partner with Payroll, Finance, HR, brokers, and vendors to resolve issues and maintain accurate information.
  • Reconcile benefits invoices, premiums, deductions, and vendor billing and assist with benefits audits.
  • Support annual open enrollment, including communications, employee education, system testing, and post-enrollment review.
  • Support compensation programs, including salary structures, job evaluations, salary ranges, job levels, merit increases, promotions, and salary adjustments.
  • Conduct compensation research and market benchmarking using salary surveys and market data.
  • Analyze compensation and benefits data to identify trends, discrepancies, pay equity considerations, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Pull, validate, reconcile, and analyze data from HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other systems.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, and analyses to support HR leadership and organizational decision-making.
  • Support compliance and reporting requirements related to benefits, compensation, and leave, including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and ACA.
  • Support benefits-related onboarding and provide new employees with clear information about eligibility, enrollment deadlines, and available programs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Partner with HRIS and other stakeholders to improve data quality, reporting, and system processes.
  • Develop and maintain process guides and documentation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and the employee experience.
  • Participate in HR projects, system implementations, and other organizational initiatives.

JOB DETAILS

Pay Rate: $85,000 – 105,000 annually

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Schedule: Day

Working Days: Monday - Friday

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits, compensation, HR operations, HRIS, analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex employee, compensation, and benefits data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and reporting.
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits, or compensation systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to translate data and analysis into practical recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and leaders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with compensation analysis, salary surveys, market benchmarking, or job evaluation.
  • Experience supporting Total Rewards programs.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Knowledge of California employment, compensation, benefits, and leave requirements.
  • Experience in healthcare, senior living, nonprofit, or a similarly complex environment.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, CEBS, or CCP is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and provide hands-on clinical support for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents in accordance with safe body mechanics.
  • Ability to respond promptly to medical emergencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
