The Arc of Ocean County is seeking an Assistant Group Home Manager to help guide the daily operations of a residential home supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading others, solving problems, and creating an environment where both employees and the individuals they support can succeed.
Working alongside the Residential Program Manager, you'll help keep services running smoothly, provide direction to Direct Support Professionals, and promote consistent, person-centered support. You'll also have the opportunity to step into greater leadership responsibility while helping individuals pursue their goals, participate in their communities, and build greater independence.

Location: Brick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Starting Pay: $25.00 per hour, plus evening/weekend shift differentials and overtime opportunities

Your Role in Residential Leadership
Guide Staff & Daily Operations
- Help manage the day-to-day operation of the residential program and promote consistency in services.
- Provide Direct Support Professionals with coaching, direction, and assistance with workplace problem-solving.
- Take on operational leadership responsibilities when the Residential Program Manager is unavailable.
- Assist with staff scheduling and help ensure appropriate coverage for the home.
Help Individuals Reach Their Goals
- Encourage individuals to build independence through daily living skills and progress toward personal goals.
- Facilitate opportunities for employment, recreation, volunteering, and meaningful community participation.
- Support implementation of Individual Habilitation Plans and monitor progress toward identified objectives.
- Reinforce behavioral strategies that promote dignity, choice, personal growth, and independence.
Maintain Quality & Compliance
- Review program documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Coordinate medical appointments and assist with monitoring medication documentation and health-related services.
- Help ensure the program operates in accordance with agency expectations and state regulations.
- Participate in licensing visits, audits, investigations, and quality improvement activities as needed.
Keep the Home Running Smoothly
- Assist with household purchasing, inventory management, and monitoring of program budgets.
- Complete required reports, records, and administrative assignments accurately and on time.
- Maintain communication with agency leadership and respond effectively to day-to-day operational needs.
- Take on additional responsibilities that contribute to the effective operation of Residential Services.

Requirements
We're looking for a dependable leader who can balance the needs of individuals, staff, and the residential program.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of two years supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with no more than five motor vehicle points.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong working relationships while leading a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and adjust schedules when operational needs require.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements associated with residential services.
