Job Summary

As a API Test Analyst you are responsible for delivering high-quality API and backend testing across a diverse portfolio of software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet business, functional, and technical requirements through rigorous testing and continuous improvement.

Job Description

We are looking for a API Test Analyst to perform API testing, including request/response validation, schema verification, error handling, and data integrity checks. This position will be full-time and remote.
What You'll Do

  • Apply strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, testing methodologies, and software development lifecycles

  • Review and analyze business and technical requirements to ensure comprehensive test coverage for enhancements, defect fixes, and new features

  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate functionality, performance, and reliability

  • Design, write, execute, and maintain clear and reusable test cases

  • Drive and promote best practices in test case design, defect tracking, test data preparation, and reporting

  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders during project and sprint meetings

  • Provide clear oral and written QA status updates, including risks, blockers, and test results

  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of issues

  • Support investigation and resolution of defects found during testing and in production

  • Evaluate existing QA processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and quality

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by QA leadership or management

What You'll Need
Required:

  • 3-5 years experience in Quality Assurance Industry

  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Solid experience in manual testing, including test planning, design, execution, analysis, and documentation

  • Hands-on experience with API testing and automation tools such as Bruno, Insomnia, or Postman

  • Working knowledge of automation concepts, test scripting, and reusable test frameworks

  • Experience using SQL for database testing, data validation, and data analysis

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Kafka, and Splunk

  • Experience with version control systems including Git and GitHub

  • Proficient in using JIRA for test management, defect tracking, and collaboration

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with keen attention to detail

  • Creative, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to think beyond standard approaches

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing tasks independently

  • Enthusiastic continuous learner, eager to adopt new tools, systems, and processes

  • Adaptable and flexible, able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong alignment with business goals, ensuring QA activities support overall organizational success

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
