What is the role about? 

As a Wellbeing for Work Coach, you will support participants to better manage their wellbeing and engage in activities that bring them closer to employment. You will deliver wellbeing modules through a blend of face to face and online group sessions, alongside one to one support, equipping participants with practical tools to improve their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. You will also play a key role in signposting participants to external support services where needed. 

Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

Delivering Wellbeing Support 

  • Work collaboratively with Employment Advisers to identify participants with health and wellbeing barriers affecting their ability to find or sustain work. 
  • Deliver one to one support to help participants overcome these barriers. 
  • Build strong rapport with participants to gain trust and confidence. 
  • Ensure Wellbeing Plans complement the activities outlined in each participant’s Action Plan. 

Training Delivery 

  • Deliver group wellbeing sessions both online and face to face as part of a blended delivery model 
  • Provide concise, engaging guidance on topics such as stress awareness, mood management, menopause awareness, and anxiety management. 

Supporting Employment Advisers 

  • Hold regular meetings with wellbeing champions, Employment Advisers, and wider teams to discuss performance and promote wellbeing support. 
  • Deliver training to new team members to build their confidence in using the wellbeing service effectively. 
  • Where appropriate, facilitate three way meetings between participants and Employment Advisers to ensure support plans are aligned and appropriate. 

Administration & Quality 

  • Demonstrates robust diary management and strong organisational skills to complete all daily administrative tasks accurately and on time, including confident use of Microsoft Teams, CRM systems, and Excel. 
  • Deliver a high quality service in line with the Participant Charter, SLAs, and programme Quality Improvement Plan. 
  • Follow all company processes and ethical standards, including correct referral procedures, expenditure processes, and programme specific requirements. 
  • Maintain participant records and data with 100% accuracy at every stage. 
  • Adhere to filing and data processes to ensure confidentiality and maintain a strong audit trail for internal and external reviews. 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with: 

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of delivering courses/working in a training environment OR 
  • A recognised teaching/training qualification or studying for one (City and Guilds 7407 or 7304, PTLLS/CTLLS/DTLLS/Level 3 Award in Education) OR Health advice/improvement qualification (minimum level - City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Health Trainer Qualification or equivalent). 
  • Experience in both Face to Face and Remote group session delivery. 
  • Key attributes including: Achievement Orientation, Accuracy Orientation, Advice & Guidance skills, Resilience, Flexibility, Adaptability, Empathy, Empowerment, Honesty, Integrity, strong Planning and Decision Making skills, and a Team focused approach. 
  • A strong understanding of healthy lifestyle principles and up to date health advice knowledge. 
  • The ability to motivate others, inspire trust, and demonstrate excellent organisation and planning skills. 
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong administration and IT skills, basic numeracy, and clear written communication skills. 
  • A genuine interest in people and a willingness to learn. 
  • Willingness to travel to offices in the regions 

Desirable Attainments:

  • Recognised teaching qualifications; Certificate of Education (Cert. Ed) or Post-Graduate Certificate in education (PGCE).
  • Experience of exposure to client groups. These client groups may include people claiming health related benefits, single parents, those with criminal records, ex-services, and specific ethnic minority or faith groups.
  • Direct previous experience of a similar role. Roles considered to be similar include the role of Health Trainer.
  • Degree or relevant qualification. Degree topics may include psychology, sociology, social care/science. Relevant qualifications would include Information Advice and Guidance NVQs, Social Work qualifications or qualifications relating to work with the specific client groups this role will involve.
  • Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Guajarati, Polish, Serbian and Greek (Dependent on programme).   

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in both Face to Face and Remote group session delivery.
  • Experience of working alone and as part of a team.
