Role Purpose
The VP, Client Leadership serves as a senior relationship, business, and growth leader for a portfolio of retail and healthcare clients while supporting broader strategic account responsibilities across the agency. This leader will represent the agency with senior client stakeholders and partner closely with internal leadership to shape strategic direction, operational excellence, team performance, organic growth, and the continued evolution of client partnerships.
This role requires a proven agency leader who can navigate the complexities of retail and healthcare marketing, build trusted relationships with senior client leaders, and connect brand strategy, commercial objectives, scientific understanding, patient engagement, customer experience, and innovation into a cohesive business agenda. The VP will strengthen client relationships, identify future growth opportunities, and introduce forward-looking solutions across AI, emerging technology, and modern marketing practices.
What You Will Do
Executive Client Leadership
Build and manage senior-level relationships across retail and healthcare.
Cultivate trusted partnerships with senior client stakeholders, commercial teams, marketing leadership, market access teams, and customer experience leaders.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on business challenges, industry trends, regulatory considerations, customer behaviors, patient journeys, and evolving market dynamics.
Support and lead key business reviews, strategic planning engagements, and senior client presentations with confidence and a clear point of view.
- Anticipate client needs and identify opportunities that strengthen dentsu Creative’s position as a long-term strategic partner.
Growth Leadership
Provide senior oversight for a meaningful client portfolio with responsibility for revenue, profitability, forecasting, staffing, and overall account health.
- Drive organic growth through expanded services, innovation initiatives, integrated marketing solutions, and strategic consulting opportunities.
- Partner with agency leadership on new business development and priority growth initiatives.
- Bring a strong understanding of retail, as well as healthcare ecosystem stakeholders.
Support growth across regulated and non-regulated environments while balancing creativity, compliance, scientific accuracy, and commercial objectives.
Integrated Marketing & Brand Leadership
- Lead integrated initiatives spanning brand strategy, customer engagement, omnichannel communications, marketing, content, media, CRM, digital experience, and commerce.
- Collaborate across creative, media, strategy, analytics, production, technology, and experience teams to deliver modern, connected solutions.
- Champion breakthrough creative thinking while ensuring the work is grounded in business objectives, customer insights, regulatory requirements, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with clients to align marketing investments with short-term performance goals and long-term brand equity.
Innovation, AI & Transformation
- Identify opportunities to modernize client marketing capabilities, operating models, workflows, and measurement frameworks.
- Bring practical knowledge of generative AI and emerging technologies, applying them to improve speed, quality, and effectiveness across strategy, insights, content development, creative production, and campaign optimization.
- Champion AI-enabled creative workflows that accelerate ideation, versioning, content creation, personalization, audience insight development, and operational efficiency while preserving human judgment and creative quality.
- Guide clients on responsible AI adoption and translate emerging capabilities into practical solutions and measurable business value.
- Partner with internal and client teams to test, scale, and govern AI-enabled solutions while protecting privacy, intellectual property, brand integrity, scientific accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Team & Agency Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop account leaders and cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Create clarity around roles, accountability, decision-making, and ways of working.
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture centered on collaboration, innovation, accountability, and talent development.
Operate as an enterprise-minded leader who contributes to dentsu Creative’s growth, culture, and transformation agenda.
What You Will Bring
Required Experience & Capabilities
12+ years of progressive leadership experience within a leading agency, marketing firm, consulting organization, or similarly complex client-services environment.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale retail and/or healthcare services accounts.
Significant experience building senior client relationships and influencing senior decision-makers.
- Proven expertise across both B2B and B2C marketing
- Experience leading integrated marketing programs across creative, media, CRM, digital, content, experience, analytics, and omnichannel activation.
Strong financial and commercial acumen, including management of account portfolios, revenue forecasting, scopes, staffing, profitability, and business growth.
- Practical expertise applying AI, automation, and modern marketing technologies to improve business outcomes, creative effectiveness, content velocity, and customer engagement.
- Track record of leading transformation and helping clients navigate organizational, technological, and market change.
Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills with senior client and internal audiences.
Ideal Candidate Profile
A strategic client leader with a strong healthcare or pharmaceutical background who understands both B2B and B2C marketing, can engage confidently with senior client stakeholders, brings a modern and practical perspective on AI and innovation, and has the leadership presence to grow complex client relationships while inspiring high-performing agency teams.
The hourly pay for this position is $145.00/ hr. The hourly pay rate for the successful candidate is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law. Temporary employees are eligible for paid holidays in accordance with dentsu policy, as well as safe and sick time. This position is not eligible for any other benefits or other compensation.
