Location: Joint Base San Antonio–Lackland (JBSA-Lackland), San Antonio, TX (on-site)
Supporting: The Defense Health Agency (DHA) **Secret Security Clearance**
Overview
CompTech Computer Technologies is seeking an experienced Video Telecommunications Specialist – Level II to provide Audio/Visual (AV) and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) support in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). This position is responsible for supporting video conferencing and conference room technologies, performing video capture and streaming activities, troubleshooting AV/VTC equipment, coordinating conference sessions, and providing technical guidance and training to end users.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting enterprise VTC, audiovisual, and conference room environments, with the technical troubleshooting and customer-service skills necessary to ensure equipment and services operate at optimal performance and capacity.
Scope of Work
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide intermediate-level technical support for Video Teleconferencing (VTC), audiovisual (AV), and conference room systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot VTC and conference room equipment, diagnose technical problems, and perform appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
- Initiate and manage trouble tickets when issues require escalation or additional technical support.
- Perform video capturing and transfer captured video content to designated media streaming servers.
- Support the setup, operation, testing, and monitoring of VTC and AV equipment for meetings, conferences, and other events.
- Verify conference room systems are operational and properly configured prior to scheduled sessions.
- Troubleshoot audio, video, display, connectivity, control-system, and peripheral issues.
- Schedule AV/VTC sessions, maintain call schedules, and coordinate conference room and VTC reservations.
- Coordinate with users, technical teams, and other locations to ensure successful conference connectivity and session execution.
- Provide client consultation regarding available AV/VTC capabilities and appropriate technology solutions.
- Provide end-user training on the operation, controls, interfaces, and proper use of audiovisual and VTC equipment.
- Assist customers during live VTC sessions and resolve technical issues with minimal disruption to meetings or events.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify issues that could affect system availability, quality, or capacity.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting activities, repairs, and resolutions within the designated ticketing system.
- Serve as an equipment custodian for assigned AV/VTC equipment.
- Perform inventory management, asset tracking, accountability, and related equipment-control functions.
- Maintain accurate records of assigned equipment and support periodic inventory and accountability activities.
- Follow established organizational procedures, security requirements, and technical support processes.
Experience, Education, and Certification Requirements:
Experience:
- Four (4) years of experience in video telecommunications, VTC support, audiovisual technology, technical support, or a related discipline demonstrating intermediate proficiency.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting VTC and/or enterprise audiovisual systems.
- Experience troubleshooting conference room AV/VTC equipment and resolving technical issues.
- Experience setting up, testing, operating, and supporting video conferencing sessions.
- Experience coordinating or scheduling VTC sessions, conference rooms, or audiovisual resources.
- Ability to diagnose audio, video, connectivity, hardware, and peripheral issues.
- Experience documenting technical incidents and resolutions through a ticketing or IT service management system.
- Ability to provide technical instruction and training to end users on AV/VTC equipment.
- Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate equipment inventory and asset-accountability records.
- Ability to satisfy the security and background investigation requirements associated with the position.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or applicable equivalency of four (4) additional years of relevant experience.
Preferred / Relevant Certifications: One is required for consideration.
- Commercial baseline certifications applicable to this intermediate role may include:
- CompTIA Security+
- CompTIA CySA+
Additional certifications related to audiovisual technologies, unified communications, networking, video conferencing, or DoD cyber workforce requirements are a plus.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance
Salary:
$22.48 /hour + $5.09/hour Health & Welfare (H&W)
