A bit about the job:
As an Underwriter, you’ll support the assessment of Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Income Protection cases, applying your judgement and building your experience across a wide range of scenarios.
With automation taking care of more routine work, you’ll have the opportunity to focus on developing your technical knowledge and using your judgement where it matters most. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues, learning through day-to-day collaboration, coaching and mentoring.
Working as part of a Poland-based team supporting the UK market, you’ll build strong relationships across teams and play an active role in your own development.

What will you be doing?

• Assessing complex Life Insurance, Critical Illness and Income Protection cases, building your confidence in making sound underwriting decisions across medical, 
  financial and lifestyle risk factors

• Using insights from underwriting tools and technology to support your decisionmaking, with guidance where needed

• Escalating more complex cases appropriately and learning from feedback to continue developing your expertise

• Collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to support underwriting quality, consistency and positive customer outcomes

• Contributing to team knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement in underwriting ways of working.

What we’re looking for?

• Life Insurance underwriting experience, ideally with exposure to Protection / Health

• A solid ability to assess risk accurately and consistently within your authority, including making appropriate escalations and carrying out quality checks to support sound underwriting decisions

• Very good English

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to explain underwriting requirements and decisions clearly to advisers, customers and internal stakeholders

• A high level of attention to detail, including completing post-issue sampling of medical reports on previously auto-accepted cases

• Strong analytical thinking and accountability when making decisions

• An attitude geared towards continuous improvement, with the ability to identify opportunities to enhance processes, quality or customer experience

• A strong understanding of regulatory compliance, data protection standards and internal policies

• A curious mindset and an openness to new ways of working, with a willingness to keep learning and developing your expertise.
