Important Immigration information:

The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position. 

Under direct supervision, operates a 15- 30 passenger bus in a safe and professional manner in accordance with an assigned schedule that is designed to ensure the timely and safe transport of students between pick up and drop off points within the university and selected off campus sites.

Responsibilities:

• Drive a 15- 30 passenger bus in a safe and professional manner. Ensure the safe transport of students between pickup and drop off points within the university campus area and selected off campus sites.

• Operates wheelchair and ADA access equipment associated with the shuttle bus to ensure safe and professional accommodations for ADA passengers.

• Operate a two-way radio and paging system in a professional manner.

• Perform before and after operation maintenance, maintain log books, and submit all reports required by the Shuttle Bus Standardized Operating Procedures Guide.

• Maintain accurate and daily and monthly reports; maintain cleanliness of bus and fueling of bus at the end of each shift

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma

• Two years of work experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrate the ability to operate several types of buses and vans to the extent of maneuvering safely through congested traffic conditions, adverse weather and road conditions.

• Exhibit a high degree of mental concentration and independent judgment.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:

• Valid vehicle operator’s license and good driving record.  Must be able to obtain State of Texas class 'B' vehicle operator's license (Commercial Drivers License with passenger endorsement and air brakes endorsement) within 45 days of employment.
