Job Summary:
ProArch is seeking a Trainee Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team. This entry-level position is ideal for fresh graduates or students in their final year who are eager to start their career in data engineering. You will gain hands-on experience in working with databases, cloud concepts, and data tools while being mentored by senior engineers to build the foundation for a successful career in data engineering.
Responsibilities
- Assist in building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines under the guidance of senior data engineers.
- Work with structured and unstructured data formats such as CSV, JSON, and XML.
- Learn and apply basic concepts of databases (SQL/NoSQL) for data querying and management.
- Support in data transformation and integration tasks using Python or other scripting languages.
- Gain exposure to Azure fundamentals and basic cloud storage concepts.
- Collaborate with team members on academic-style projects, POCs, and small-scale data solutions.
- Document learnings, processes, and workflows to support knowledge sharing.
- Continuously develop technical and problem-solving skills through mentorship and hands-on practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Mathematics, or Engineering (completed or ongoing in final year).
- Strong logical thinking, analytical mindset, and eagerness to learn data concepts.
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and Python or another scripting language.
- Strong understanding of Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Awareness of Azure fundamentals or cloud concepts.
- Familiarity with Excel, Power BI, or Tableau for data visualization.
- Knowledge of version control tools such as Git.
Good to Have Skills
- Exposure to ETL tools or Azure Data Factory.
- Awareness of cloud storage solutions like Azure Blob Storage or Data Lake.
- Participation in data-related academic or personal projects demonstrating interest in data engineering.
