Tax Manager LATAM

MiQ is looking for a LATAM Tax Manager to lead and coordinate our regional tax compliance agenda across Latin America. This role is responsible for overseeing corporate income tax, VAT/indirect tax, transfer pricing compliance deadlines, and cross-border withholding tax matters across multiple jurisdictions.

Working closely with third-party advisors, local finance teams, and global stakeholders, the successful candidate will help ensure MiQ meets its obligations accurately, on time, and in a commercially practical way. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on tax professional who enjoys managing multiple workstreams, improving governance, and partnering with the business on issues with direct tax, VAT, and withholding tax implications.

What you'll do

  • Own and project manage the LATAM tax compliance calendar, covering corporate income tax, VAT/indirect tax, transfer pricing compliance deliverables, and withholding tax obligations.

  • Coordinate third-party advisors and local finance teams across LATAM to ensure returns, declarations, payments, documentation, and supporting analyses are delivered accurately and on time.

  • Review advisor-prepared corporate tax, VAT, and withholding tax returns, calculations, and workpapers, challenging technical positions where appropriate and ensuring alignment with MiQ’s business model and group policy.

  • Assess the withholding tax impact of cross-border payments and intercompany flows, including services, royalties, interest, dividends, and management charges, while ensuring treaty and documentation requirements are addressed.

  • Monitor transfer pricing compliance deadlines and coordinate local files, supporting documentation, disclosures, and advisor deliverables across the region.

  • Support tax reporting, return-to-provision adjustments, audits, tax authority queries, tax risk tracking, and remediation actions across LATAM.

  • Partner with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and business stakeholders on new transactions, restructurings, contracts, and operating changes with direct tax, VAT, and withholding tax consequences.

  • Strengthen regional governance through trackers, review checklists, dashboards, process standardisation, and clear ownership of deadlines and issues.

What you'll bring

  • 6+ years of relevant tax experience, gained in-house and/or in Big Four or professional practice, with strong exposure to LATAM corporate tax and withholding tax matters.

  • A practical understanding of VAT/indirect tax and transfer pricing compliance coordination across multiple LATAM jurisdictions.

  • A qualification as an accountant, tax lawyer, or equivalent tax/finance professional is preferred.

  • Strong project management, advisor management, review, and stakeholder communication skills.

  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders across different countries and time zones.

  • Comfort working with tax trackers, reporting packs, and ERP-driven data, along with good Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

  • Fluent Spanish and strong written and spoken English; Portuguese is an advantage.

Who you are

You are commercial, organised, and hands-on, with sound technical judgement and strong attention to detail. You are comfortable working across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating advisors and internal stakeholders, and bringing structure and clarity to complex tax processes. You combine technical understanding with a practical, solutions-focused mindset and enjoy building strong working relationships across the business.
