Job Purpose:

The Tax Associate is an entry- to early-mid-level tax professional who supports the tax services team in preparing returns, organizing client data, and maintaining accurate records. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional to develop technical tax skills within a collaborative wealth management environment under the guidance of experienced tax leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual (1040) and straightforward business tax returns under the supervision of a Tax Specialist or Tax Services Manager

• Gather, organize, and verify client tax documents and information in preparation for return filing

• Input client data accurately into tax software and maintain organized electronic and physical client files

• Track and monitor filing deadlines and communicate status updates to supervising staff

• Respond to routine client inquiries under the direction of senior team members

• Assist with administrative tasks during peak filing seasons including extensions, estimated payments, and document requests

• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

• Support process improvement initiatives by documenting workflows and identifying inefficiencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• 0–3 years of tax or accounting experience; internship experience in a tax or public accounting setting is a plus

• Familiarity with tax concepts and basic return preparation preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with tax software a plus

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Ability to manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment

• Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn and grow

•     CPA, EA and/or JD candidacy or intent to pursue licensure strongly encouraged
