Job Description:

Meade is seeking an outgoing and driven Talent Ambassador to build relationships across the Phoenix engineering community and develop a strong pipeline of technical talent. This is not a traditional desk-based recruiting role. It blends field-based relationship development, proactive talent sourcing, and local market research with the goal of connecting exceptional engineers to Meade before they are actively looking for a new opportunity.

This is a full-time, Phoenix-based role designed for someone who is energized by meeting new people, building a network, and turning relationships into results. The majority of time will be spent in the market at industry events, professional gatherings, coffees, lunches, and other relationship-building opportunities. Approximately 5-10 hours per week are expected in the office for team coordination, ATS documentation, research, and follow-up. The schedule will flex around where the market is active, including regular evening and occasional weekend events.

Job Duties:

Market Presence & Relationship Development

  • Represent Meade at industry, professional association, alumni, university, and community events across the Phoenix metro area
  • Attend selected client-facing and industry events alongside Business Development and other leaders to expand Meade's presence and relationships in the market
  • Build authentic, long-term relationships with engineers, designers, project managers, technical leaders, and other professionals in the A/E/C and mission-critical communities
  • Create opportunities to connect outside formal recruiting channels, including coffees, lunches, happy hours, site visits, association events, and informal gatherings
  • Maintain an active calendar of relevant events and identify where Meade should invest time to build access to high-value talent networks

 Talent Sourcing & Candidate Development

  • Identify and engage passive engineering talent through in-person networking, referrals, LinkedIn, professional associations, alumni networks, licensing directories, and other appropriate sourcing channels
  • Learn to qualify prospective candidates based on discipline, experience, licensure, technical background, career interests, compensation expectations, and alignment with Meade opportunities
  • Develop and maintain a warm pipeline of prospective candidates for both current and anticipated hiring needs so the team is not starting from zero when positions open
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to coordinate candidate handoffs, interviews, follow-up, and offer-stage engagement while providing a consistent candidate experience
  • Work toward defined activity, pipeline, hiring, and retention goals, with performance incentives tied to successful recruiting outcomes

Market Research & Talent Intelligence

  • Build a working map of the Phoenix engineering talent market, including major employers, disciplines, experience levels, areas of specialization, and where key talent is concentrated
  • Track publicly available hiring activity, team movement, project activity, and other market trends that may affect Meade's ability to attract engineering talent
  • Gather practical market feedback through professional relationships, including candidate sentiment, career drivers, and compensation expectations, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and never soliciting proprietary or confidential competitor information
  • Provide Talent Acquisition and leadership with concise, actionable updates on what is happening in the local talent market and where opportunities may exist

ATS, Follow-Up & Internal Coordination

  • Maintain accurate and timely candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS), including contact information, interaction notes, source attribution, interests, and next steps
  • Complete follow-up consistently after events and conversations so relationships continue to develop over time
  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition on priority roles, target profiles, outreach strategy, and duplicate-contact prevention
  • Track event activity, relationship development, pipeline progress, and recruiting results to help evaluate return on time and investment
  • Manage event-related expenses and activities in accordance with company policies and approved budgets

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in a highly customer-facing environment such as hospitality, sales, events, recruiting, business development, customer service, or a similar relationship-driven role, preferred
  • Natural confidence initiating conversations with new people and the ability to build rapport quickly across a wide range of professional settings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, approachable presence
  • Highly self-directed and comfortable building a schedule around market activity rather than a traditional Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. routine
  • Strong follow-through and organization, including the discipline to document interactions and maintain accurate candidate information in an ATS or CRM
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling candidate, compensation, and competitive market information
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; regular local travel throughout the Phoenix metro area is required
  • Availability for regular evening and occasional weekend events
  • Prior engineering or recruiting experience is not required, but the ability and willingness to quickly learn engineering disciplines, technical terminology, career paths, and professional licensing is essential

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Existing personal or professional network in the Phoenix metro area
  • Experience in hospitality, event promotion, consultative sales, agency recruiting, business development, or another role where success depends on creating relationships and converting interest into action
  • Exposure to engineering, construction, data centers, professional services, or other technical industries
  • Experience working toward measurable activity, pipeline, sales, recruiting, or conversion goals

Physical Demands:

  • This is a field-based role that requires regular local driving and frequent attendance at events. The position involves a mix of desk work and extended periods of standing and walking, with occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting of event or office materials up to 20 pounds.
