The Sustainability Lead is responsible for driving the execution of sustainability initiatives across UNIQLO Indonesia’s key sustainability pillars: Planet, People, and Society. This role acts as a bridge between sustainability strategy and practical implementation by translating company direction, global initiatives, and local priorities into structured programs, communication plans, and cross-functional actions.

The position is expected to independently manage projects, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, monitor progress, and ensure timely execution with strong ownership, business understanding, and attention to quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sustainability Program Execution

• Lead and coordinate the execution of sustainability initiatives across Planet, People, and Society pillars.
• Translate sustainability plans into clear action steps, timelines, deliverables, and follow-up mechanisms.
• Monitor project progress and ensure initiatives are executed on time and in line with agreed objectives.
• Identify operational issues during implementation and propose practical solutions or improvements.
• Support implementation of global and local sustainability programs, campaigns, and company initiatives.

2. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with related internal teams, including PR, Marketing, Store Operations, Warehouse, HR, Legal, and other relevant departments.
• Coordinate with stores and operational teams to ensure sustainability initiatives can be implemented effectively in the field.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth alignment, timely feedback, and clear execution.
• Facilitate regular communication and follow-up with relevant PICs to ensure project progress and accountability.

3. Sustainability Communication and Reporting

• Prepare sustainability-related materials, reports, presentations, communication drafts, and project updates.
• Support internal and external communication related to sustainability initiatives, including customer awareness and employee engagement.
• Ensure sustainability messages are clear, accurate, consistent, and aligned with UNIQLO / Fast Retailing direction.
• Consolidate project results, learnings, and improvement points for management review and future planning.

4. Stakeholder and Partnership Management

• Coordinate with external stakeholders such as NGOs, communities, agencies, partners, vendors, or other relevant organizations.
• Support partnership activities that contribute to sustainability objectives and company impact.
• Maintain professional communication and coordination with external parties to ensure smooth collaboration and execution.
• Support preparation and follow-up of sustainability events, community programs, or collaborative initiatives.

5. Research, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor sustainability trends, social/environmental topics, customer expectations, and relevant local issues.
• Stay updated on relevant regulations, public concerns, and sustainability practices that may affect company initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve sustainability programs, communication, and operational impact.
• Provide input and recommendations based on research, project learnings, and stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from any relevant field; background in Sustainability, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Social Science, Environmental Studies, or related areas is preferred.
• Minimum 6–8 years of relevant working experience.
• Experience in sustainability, CSR, corporate communication, PR, marketing, project management, or stakeholder engagement is preferred.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders is an advantage.
• Strong proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel for reporting, presentation, and project tracking.
• Proactive, adaptable, detail-oriented, and willing to take ownership.
