What you’ll do in this role:

The Engineering Supervisor has daily responsibility for providing direct supervision to engineers and engineering technicians in one or more value streams, departments, or functions, supporting the achievement of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People performance goals.   Through strong cross-functional leadership competencies and adherence to Integer Values, you coordinate the alignment of resources and equipment in the most efficient and effective manner to achieve your functional goals. The supervisor is the primary interface between the engineers and engineering technicians and the other functions aligning to support ongoing manufacturing operations.

Build & develop teams:

• You will be supervising, coaching, and directing a team of engineering technicians and engineers in support of one or more product lines or process areas within a manufacturing site.
• As part of your responsibilities, you will establish daily/weekly/monthly objectives for your team members and ensure effective communications throughout the team. An element of these objectives include providing the active support for each of your direct reports to aspire to accomplish his/her Individual Development Plans as a roadmap to professional and personal skill’s development.
• You are the first level support for resolving day-to-day issues as they are raised by members of your team and, after assessing the situation, you may seek cross functional and/or organizational support for resolution. To be successful, you will possess the technical understanding and the ability to apply procedures and concepts within your own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines.

• You manage by Gemba walks, observations and asking questions.  You have a curious mind with a passion for improving processes.  You are an active listener, seeking opportunities to engage with members of your team throughout the site and across all functions
• You are constantly communicating and aligning with the operations leadership to ensure your team is appropriately focused and prioritized to support sustained operations, continuous improvement, and new product and new technology deployments.
• You recognize that what you do not audit, does not happen, so a key element of your Leader Standard Work is to conduct audits of processes and product, including, but not limited to, 5S, Safety, Quality, and Engineering best practices, to ensure your team members and other Associates in the site adhere to Integer’s policies and procedures.
• You will ensure ongoing training and development opportunities are afforded your team to ensure all are kept aware of latest standards, policies, procedures, technologies and job aids.

Provide technical leadership in support of Integer’s Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation Strategies

• Be a champion for the development of and deployment of the systems and tools to drive continuous improvement.

What sets you apart:

• Your experiences and accomplishments to date provide evidence that you are able to learn, retain, and apply knowledge.  Having earned a bachelor’s degree - preferably in Industrial Engineering, or another technical discipline - is one way to demonstrate your abilities.  Other ways include sharing examples of accumulated technical learnings and experiences that link directly to outlined expectations of this role or some relevant technical certification like Six Sigma green belt or Black belt.
• To be successful, you will have had manufacturing floor experiences where, at some point, you were directly supporting a manufacturing process or product line and/or the associated equipment or controls.
• You understand what it means to lead, to take leadership actions, to create and share a coordinated vision, and to align a team of direct reports to take on and resolve what needs to be done.
• You possess a clear preference for working in a team environment and establishing an expectation that team comes before self.
• You enjoy a fast paced and complex manufacturing environment.
• You have clear line of sight to developing executable plans for the team by prioritizing daily activities and ensuring the focus remains on the critical few instead of the trivial many.
• You demonstrate strong communication & interpersonal skills, a bias for action, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• You value the culture of continuous improvement enabled by associate engagement and have previous experiences developing and implementing ideas for improving safety, quality, customer service, and/or productivity.
• You speak and write fluently in English.
