Structural Steel CNC Operator

Starting Pay: $22.00/hour + $3.00 night differential — higher depending on experience
Position Summary
We are hiring a Structural Steel CNC Operator to run CNC equipment used in steel fabrication. This position requires experience with structural steel, fabrication drawings, material handling, and precision measurement.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
Review fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine production requirements.
Load and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials using overhead cranes and rigging equipment.
Monitor equipment operation and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
Check dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other precision measuring tools.
Make basic programming edits or machine adjustments for different material sizes and thicknesses.
Perform routine CNC maintenance and assist with troubleshooting.
Maintain a clean and safe work area while following OSHA and shop safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred.
2+ years of CNC machine operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
Ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings.
Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
