Job Summary

The Legal Counsel – Security is a permanent and full-time Manager role within Accenture’s Global Services Security Legal Team. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on Security offerings and related client agreements, supporting business growth by identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks, enabling go-to-market strategies, and providing guidance on the evolving regulatory landscape impacting Security services. The role forms part of Accenture’s Global Legal Network (GLN), a global organization delivering specialized legal services and innovative solutions to support Accenture’s business objectives worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess new Security offerings, develop risk mitigation strategies, and support the Security Business in executing its go-to-market strategy.
  • Support client opportunities as a Security subject matter expert by providing business-focused and risk-based legal guidance to the Security Business, Sales Teams, and Accenture’s client-facing Legal teams.
  • Collaborate with Accenture Regulatory and Compliance Counsel to analyze applicable regulations, provide legal guidance, and anticipate the impact of regulatory developments on the Security Business.
  • Develop guidance materials, templates, standard approaches, and playbooks to enable efficient contracting support for Security-related offerings.
  • Develop and deliver communications, guidance, and training related to legal considerations impacting the Security Business and associated stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across Security Business, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and Sales organizations.
  • Support evaluation of prospective acquisition targets and contribute to post-merger integration strategies from a legal and risk management perspective.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, standardization efforts, and knowledge-sharing activities within the Security Legal team.
  • Monitor developments in security, cybersecurity, privacy, technology, and regulatory environments to proactively identify business risks and opportunities.

Knowledge And Skill Requirements

  • Strong understanding of security-related services, technology offerings, and commercial contracting frameworks.
  • Experience analyzing complex legal and commercial issues and developing practical risk mitigation strategies.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and associated contractual and regulatory considerations.
  • Understanding of, or willingness to learn, regulatory requirements applicable to security, privacy, data protection, and digital services.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly changing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish trusted relationships with senior business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively and support team members in managing shared priorities.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to prepare materials and brief senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in business research, metrics analysis, and interpretation of operational and business reports.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, geographies, and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and diverse workplace environment.
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies, cybersecurity, data protection, and innovation.

Education

  • University law degree (Master or comparable level).
  • Admission and good standing with applicable bar association(s) or local equivalent.
  • Additional certifications or qualifications related to cybersecurity, privacy, compliance, risk management, or emerging technologies are advantageous.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm environment.
  • Experience advising on security, cybersecurity, technology, digital, or data-related legal matters preferred.
  • Experience evaluating complex legal and commercial risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Experience supporting innovative product and service offerings, including emerging technology solutions.
  • Experience shaping commercial transactions and advising on strategic business initiatives.
  • Experience working directly with senior business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with data protection, privacy, regulatory compliance, and emerging technology issues.
  • Project management experience or exposure is desirable.
  • Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or strategic growth initiatives is preferred.
