About the location:

Your own private paradise on a lush coral island. On Desroches Island, there is nothing to distract you from tranquillity, save for the sound of birds singing and an ocean breeze that invites you to come a little closer. We’re the only resort on this captivating coral island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, where the beaches belong to no one and everyone at the same time. Our rustic villas and suites are intimate retreats and will make you feel like a castaway who has struck gold.

The Stewarding team ensures that each outlet and function has an adequate supply of clean dishes and silverware and also keeps the kitchen and the “heart of house” clean and safe.

Overall purpose of the position

To ensure the efficient and professional running of the stewarding, by working to the four seasons brand standards. To ensure controlling the chemicals and cleaning supplies cost.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

- Operation of the dishwashing machine and cleaning procedures.

- Cleaning of kitchen utensils and arranging on the shelves.

- Cleaning of machines like meat slicer and disinfect them.

- Practice of personal hygiene and health safety measures.

- Cleaning and sanitizing of ice machines.

- Cleaning of vegetable room, floor, walls, ceiling, and hood filters including AC vents.

- Ensure all the adequate chemicals for service are ready.

- Ensure all equipment (glass ware, China ware, cutlery, chaffing dishes) for service are ready as per the need of the day.

- Ensure the dishwasher is clean and ready for use.

- Ensure all the equipment is ready for the event in case there is a banquet function.

- Make sure all the pots, pans, treys and other utensil cleaning is done up to the four seasons standard. Sweeping and moping of the floor to be done as per the needs of the operation.

- Attend fire, safety and evacuation procedure and all other trainings complies with the hotel's health, safety and hygiene policy.

Comply with company standards in relation to hygiene and personal presentation

GENERAL

To report on duty punctually according to the duty roaster and be mindful of his personal appearance and grooming.

To carry out any additional tasks and all other duties assigned to him /her for that day and as well performs other related duties and special cleaning assigned.

The steward must abide by all the rules of the hotel and stewarding itself.

He or she must coordinate and cooperate with his /her fellow employees and seniors at all

times to ensure the smooth running of the outlet.

Ensure daily procedures carried out to the correct standards of the hotel.

To report any damage of kitchen and related areas equipment immediately to superiors.

He or she must work flexibly and any shift as per the hotel activities.

Schedule & Hours 

•    Full time – 6 days a week of which you will be expected to work early mornings, days, evenings,      overnight, public holidays or weekends

•    The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day and scheduled days and times may vary based on operational need.
