About the Opportunity
As Senior Manager Southern NSW, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio spanning metropolitan, regional and rural communities across NSW. You will translate organisational priorities into strong service, people and community outcomes, ensuring services respond to local needs.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be a highly visible and connected leader, building trusted relationships across your geographic area and representing Wellways with key stakeholders, community partners and local networks. You will lead across services spanning Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Young, Deniliquin, Albury, Wollongong, Canberra, Shepparton and Ballarat, fostering connection, collaboration and shared purpose across a geographically dispersed portfolio.
This is an opportunity to lead with purpose and make a meaningful difference across a diverse region. You will have the privilege of bringing Wellways’ strategy to life in local communities, shaping service excellence and participant outcomes, strengthening partnerships and identifying opportunities for service development and growth. You will champion lived and living experience, co-production and participant voice, while providing values-led leadership through change and transformation.
With stewardship of financial performance, governance, risk and resources, you will create the conditions for sustainable, high-quality services and a culture of accountability, wellbeing, innovation and continuous improvement.
You can be based at any of the service locations across the region, with applicants based in or close to Murrumbidgee or South Coast particularly encouraged to apply. Regular travel and a strong presence across the region are essential to building trusted relationships, supporting leaders and maintaining connection with local communities, participants and services.
About You
You are an experienced, values-led leader who combines strategic thinking with strong operational focus. You bring a proven track record of leading complex services, programs and portfolios, developing high-performing leaders and teams, and building trusted partnerships that deliver positive outcomes for participants, communities and the organisation.
You are confident leading large, geographically dispersed portfolios, creating connection and shared purpose across metropolitan, regional and rural communities while balancing local needs with organisational priorities. You understand the importance of visible and connected leadership, building strong relationships across a dispersed workforce and ensuring teams feel part of one Wellways team.
You bring demonstrated experience translating strategy into action, driving service improvement and identifying opportunities for business development, growth and innovation. You build effective partnerships with government, community and sector stakeholders and use strong communication, influence and collaboration to strengthen outcomes and community impact.
Your leadership approach is grounded in participant-centred practice, inclusion, cultural safety and the meaningful integration of lived and living experience. You stay connected to community needs, to ensure Wellways continues to respond to changing environments. You create spaces where people feel valued, supported and empowered, with diverse perspectives contributing to stronger decision-making and service delivery.
You bring strong financial stewardship, with experience managing budgets, resources and performance to support organisational priorities and sustainable outcomes. Above all, you demonstrate a genuine commitment to Wellways’ values and purpose, leading with compassion, inclusivity and a deep belief in the importance of community, participation and social change.
