What this role is all about

Being part of Infobip Engineering means building and scaling products that process billions of interactions worldwide. In this role, you will join a team focused on Billing, one of the core domains behind Infobip’s global platform. Every message, interaction, and communication event needs to be processed, calculated, and billed accurately at massive scale, making this a technically complex and business-critical engineering challenge. You will work on distributed microservices, large-scale architectures, and systems that support high-volume global traffic while collaborating closely with engineers, product teams, and platform specialists.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot backend services within Infobip’s Billing domain

• Build scalable microservices that process and calculate billions of communication interactions globally

• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices

• Analyze system interactions and dependencies across large distributed architectures

• Collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams to deliver reliable billing solutions at scale

• Participate in agile practices including sprint planning, refinements, and retrospectives

• Contribute to system reliability, monitoring, performance optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives

• Expand your knowledge across backend development, system design, observability, and cloud-native technologies

What makes you a strong fit

• Experience developing backend applications in large-scale or distributed environments

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and algorithms

• Experience working with concurrent and multi-tier applications

• Understanding of RESTful services and service-oriented architectures

• Experience with code reviews, automated testing, and clean code practices

• Comfortable working in agile development environments and collaborating across teams

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, or similar

• Understanding of databases and data platforms such as PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka

• Experience with frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Node.js

• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Kotlin, or Python

• Experience working with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Slack

• Interest in learning, adopting, and proposing new technologies and engineering approaches
