Turn Valve Expertise into Customer Success as our new Service Sales Specialist!
Are you a solutions-oriented technical expert who can translate customer needs into winning solutions and proposals? Do you enjoy being equally at home closing a deal and solving a valve problem on-site? We're looking for a versatile professional who combines genuine hands-on valve expertise with a commercial drive.
As a Service Sales Specialist, you will grow Valmet's business in Romania by selling valves, spare parts, upgrades, and service solutions to end customers — while also executing and supervising the valve services that make you a trusted, credible partner at the customer's site. You are the single point of contact who understands both the technical reality in the field and the commercial opportunity behind it.
Valmet | Location: Bucharest or Ploiești, Romania | Field-based with travel across Eastern Europe.
What will you do?
Sales & business development:
Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities for Valmet valves, actuators, smart valve products, spare parts, upgrades, and service agreements.
Translate customer needs into technical-commercial proposals and quotations and follow through to order.
Turn every service observation and maintenance recommendation into a concrete sales opportunity — proposing overhauls, upgrades, and digitalized/predictive maintenance concepts that address current and future needs.
Build and manage long-term customer partnerships and service agreements that drive recurring business growth.
Grow Valmet's installed base and service position through regular customer visits, account development, and continuous follow-up.
Service execution & technical expertise:
Execute, coordinate, and supervise valve overhaul services during complex projects such as shutdowns, routine maintenance, and predictive maintenance programs.
Inspect, test, maintain, overhaul, and upgrade Valmet valves, actuators, smart valve products and accessories to the highest quality and safety standards, in line with Valmet's procedures.
Advise on the required scope of services and the spare parts needed for repairs or replacements, ensuring genuine Valmet parts and correct procedures — including when supervising external service providers.
Manage visit reports and contribute technical solutions that anticipate future customer needs.
What you need to succeed:
Technical education, preferably with a mechanical or measurement/instrumentation specialization.
Experience in valve/rotating-equipment service and/or technical sales of industrial flow control products.
A genuine commercial mindset — confident identifying needs, presenting solutions, negotiating, and closing.
Solid understanding of complex valve repair and maintenance procedures, obstacles, and safety hazards.
Ability to work independently, with a structured, systematic approach and the resilience to deliver under pressure.
Ability to lead and guide others with reliable, trusted service and technical guidance.
Category B driving license and willingness to travel.
Romanian fluency expected and English language skills. Additional regional languages a plus.
We are looking for a team player with a positive, can-do attitude. You understand the bigger picture while being equally comfortable with detailed technical work. You are well-organized, capable of planning and prioritizing your work independently, and able to deliver results in a dynamic international environment with challenging schedules.
We offer:
In return, we offer you an interesting work environment, challenging position in a unit characterized by innovativeness and openness. Working within a global industry leader and the support of Valmet's global network. With us you are working in a team that contributes to the success of the organization as well as find opportunities for personal development.
