Job Summary
You will join a cross-functional team building our Next-Generation of digital signage tooling from a world class CMS that integrates design and event systems, through a multitude of signage presentation platforms, into high volume reporting, and analytics systems.
We work in an agile, DevOps-oriented environment with an emphasis on quality engineering, sustainable delivery, and continuous improvement. You’ll help ensure our systems are reliable, observable, secure, and capable of handling data at large scale.
This role will help Digital Signage strengthen today’s quality engineering foundation while evolving toward a more automated, telemetry-driven, and AI-enabled delivery model. We do not expect every future capability to exist on day one; we are looking for someone who can improve the current system while helping define and pilot the next generation of quality practices.
You will collaborate with Product, UX, Engineering, and DevOps to deliver high-quality features in an agile, flow-oriented delivery environment using Jira and CI/CD tooling such as GitLab CI/CD or Bitbucket Pipelines, across SaaS architectures including AWS and Azure.
The Person
You are a team player who cares about the customer and business outcomes. You enjoy working closely with teammates to build relationships while finding and fixing important problems. You often experiment with the latest technology and methods to logically and efficiently improve process. You prioritize prevention of risk over late detection of defects, and you are comfortable coaching teammates, improving quality practices, and helping teams build quality into the platform from the start. You are also comfortable operating in a transition state: strong in today’s quality engineering practices, while curious and pragmatic about how AI, automation, and telemetry will change quality over the next several years.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate quality across signage components such as content repository, design, scheduling, integration, deployment, player performance, reporting and analytics.
- Troubleshoot across cloud and platform services - including AWS or Azure services, databases, storage, and observability tooling such as Sentry.IO—to find problem sources and contribute to resolutions.
- Flag testing, risk, and observability considerations early in design and planning including writing lightweight test strategy and plans.
- Ensure effective automation at the appropriate layers (API/service, data validation, and UI as needed).
- Explore and responsibly introduce AI-assisted quality practices where they create measurable improvements in speed, coverage, reliability, or insight, while preserving human judgment and appropriate review gates.
- Champion a whole-team quality approach.
- Contribute to non-functional testing (performance, scalability, resilience, security).
- Facilitate collaborative quality activities (exploratory testing, risk workshops, bug bashes).
- Help define and mature automated quality gates, regression suites, and evaluation-style checks that can support both today’s delivery process and future AI-assisted development workflows.
- Partner with Product, UX, and Engineering to translate product intent into clear, testable acceptance criteria and risk-based test strategies.
- Use production telemetry, customer workflow data, observability signals, and CI/CD feedback to prioritize testing and identify quality risks earlier.
- Partner with Engineering and Product as we pilot AI-assisted delivery workflows, helping assess where AI can safely support test generation, defect triage, documentation, MR review, and delivery reporting.
Technical Skills/Experience
- 7+ years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Engineering, including complex SaaS platforms and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with API/service, data workflow and user-facing application testing, including event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience building or contributing to test automation frameworks across API/service, data and UI layers, using tools such as Playwright, Selenium or equivalent.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java or TypeScript.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and troubleshooting across databases, storage and monitoring/diagnostic services.
- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices, including automated testing and delivery using GitLab, Bitbucket Pipelines or equivalent.
- Experience with load/performance testing and using production telemetry/observability to identify and prioritise quality risks.
- Experience establishing whole-team quality practices, driving quality improvements and coaching engineering teams.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development or testing tools (e.g. Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, CodeRabbit, GitLab Duo), with the ability to critically review AI-generated tests, code and analysis.
- Experience collaborating effectively across distributed teams, including clear documentation and asynchronous handoffs.
Nice to have
- Experience with observability platforms such as Sentry.io, Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, Application Insights or equivalent.
- Familiarity with testing containerised/serverless workloads and Infrastructure as Code, including Kubernetes/ECS/EKS/AKS, CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Experience with test data generation, including synthetic data and data masking.
- Experience with analytics/visualisation platforms such as Power BI, Looker or Tableau.
- Experience applying GenAI to quality engineering use cases, such as test generation, synthetic data, log analysis or defect triage.
- Community involvement through open source, technical writing, meetups or conferences.
