Senior Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality

Location: Chennai, India

Role Summary

The Senior Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality is responsible for driving end-to-end quality performance of global suppliers supporting NCR Atleos products, including cable & harness assemblies, displays, and electrical/electronic components. This role ensures robust supplier processes, supports new product introduction, resolves supplier-related quality issues, and protects manufacturing, field performance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality management for global suppliers of cable harnesses, displays, and electronic components
• Drive supplier performance improvement aligned to PPM, yield, and field reliability targets
• Support NPI through supplier qualification, risk assessment, and process validation
• Review and approve PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and First Article Inspection
• Resolve supplier-related issues impacting incoming quality, production lines, and field performance
• Drive 8D / CAPA ensuring strong root cause and corrective actions
• Conduct supplier audits (process, system, product)
• Collaborate with sourcing, engineering, manufacturing, and customer quality teams
• Monitor supplier KPIs such as PPM, rejection trends, CAPA closure, and field failures
• Drive Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reduction

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, or related discipline
• 8+ years of strong experience in Supplier Quality / Quality Engineering
• Experience with cable & harness, displays, and electronic components
• Strong experience in supplier audits, 8D, 5 Why, CAPA, PPAP/APQP/ DFM
• Experience working with global and cross-functional teams with good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ATM, self-service, automotive or industrial electronics domain
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, RoHS, REACH
• Six Sigma / ASQ CQE / Lead Auditor certification
