About the role:
The Senior Project Manager is a senior specialist within Operations, reporting to the Head of Asset Delivery AU and independently managing multiple projects across Victoria’s urban, road, rail and airport environments. The role oversees end-to-end delivery of new and upgraded advertising structures, coordinating suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to achieve safety, time, cost, quality and sustainability outcomes, while championing JCDecaux’s vision and values.
A Day in the Life:
- Oversee asset design, data, systems and project management standards to ensure advertising structures are fit-for-purpose, durable, compliant and efficiently delivered, working closely with Procurement and Operations to optimise products, supply chain, logistics and standard designs.
- Lead all projects with a Safety in Design and sustainability focus, ensuring robust safety and environmental plans, accredited and compliant contractors, active site monitoring, WHS issue management, and sustainable, energy-efficient asset solutions.
- Manage CapEx trackers, budgets, schedules and risks to commission assets on time and on budget, driving efficient stakeholder and contractor management and providing clear reporting on progress, risks and costs to senior stakeholders.
- Ensure customer success by delivering projects to agreed scope, quality, schedule and budget, providing visibility of milestones and risks, and capturing feedback post‑commissioning to improve future projects and honour customer commitments.
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to the Victorian Project Manager and multifunctional project teams, setting clear expectations and accountability, fostering collaboration and constructive challenge, and sharing lessons learned.
About You:
You’ll have demonstrated experience in Project or Construction Management, be familiar with working with large government bodies and have prior contractor management experience. As well as:
- 8+ years managing design and construction projects in complex built environments (urban, transport, infrastructure or similar).
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- Formal project management qualification (e.g. PMBoK, PRINCE2) or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated contractor management and sound people management skills.
- Superior computer literacy (including strong Excel proficiency), with proven planning, budget management and decision‑making skillsExperience in high‑risk work environments and a current driver’s licence.
Desirable:
Experience in one or more of:
- Outdoor media or signage industry.
- Safety in Design principles and their practical application.
- Projects for government, transport organisations (road/rail) or local councils.
