  • Support issue resolution by coordinating timely responses, tracking commitments, escalating risks, and ensuring follow-through on agreed actions.

  • Support the advancement of Indigenous economic participation opportunities, including procurement, contracting, employment, training, and capacity-building initiatives

  • Support Canadian Energy Regulator consultation and engagement requirements by maintaining accurate engagement records, commitments, evidence of follow-up, and issue tracking.

  • Provide senior advice to project leadership on Indigenous relations risks, opportunities, engagement strategy, community priorities, and potential effects on Indigenous rights and interests.

  • Collaborate with environment, land, regulatory, construction, legal, and communications teams to integrate Indigenous input into project planning, permitting, routing, mitigation, and execution decisions where appropriate.

  • Prepare briefing notes, engagement summaries, meeting materials, risk updates, and reports for internal project governance and regulatory processes.

  • Represent South Bow professionally in community meetings, open houses, leadership meetings, site visits, regulatory discussions, and project engagement forums.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Indigenous studies, business, communications, environmental studies, public policy, law, natural resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Indigenous relations, consultation, engagement, or community relations, ideally within pipeline, energy, major infrastructure, natural resources, or construction environments.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting major project development or execution, including engagement with Indigenous Nations and communities affected by project planning, permitting, construction, or operations.

  • Strong understanding of Indigenous rights, Treaty rights, consultation expectations, regulatory engagement processes, and Indigenous participation in Canadian resource and infrastructure projects.

  • Experience supporting Indigenous engagement activities for federally regulated projects and working knowledge of Canadian Energy Regulator requirements.

  • Strong issue management, facilitation, negotiation, meeting management, documentation, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to translate community feedback and engagement outcomes into practical project advice, risk mitigation, and action plans.
