About the role

We are looking for a Senior Front End Engineer (Contractor) with strong TypeScript and React expertise, who is also comfortable contributing to UI and interaction design where needed. You are highly technical, hands-on, and capable of contributing to architecture and solutions, writing high-quality code, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Beyond engineering skills, you have a strong eye for UI detail and usability, and can work with existing design systems—or make thoughtful design decisions when designs are light or evolving. You are an effective communicator who can collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and engineers.

As a contractor, you will work on a project basis, delivering high-quality front-end solutions while maintaining flexibility in your work schedule. You should be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of outcomes, and aligning with the team’s objectives and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
• Contribute to UI implementation and light design work, including layout, interaction, and visual polish when required.
• Ensure type safety, maintainability, and scalability through effective TypeScript practices.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers or translate high-level requirements into intuitive user interfaces when designs are not fully specified.
• Apply and evolve design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency and quality.
• Optimize components for performance across a wide range of browsers and devices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold quality and share knowledge.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues to improve overall user experience.

Must have

• Proven experience as a Front End Engineer with a strong portfolio of web applications.
• Expert knowledge of React and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of best practices.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience implementing UI designs and making considered design decisions where needed.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and mobile-first development.
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and backend integration.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams.
