This position reports to the VP, Head of Patient Safety and Pharmacovigilance (PSPV). Your focus is to streamline how the PSPV leadership team (LT) operates, ensure global initiatives are executed on time, and remove operational friction across the PSPV organization.

This is a high-visibility leadership role requiring strong matrix management skills. You will work closely with the VP and functional heads (including Safety Operations & Compliance, Safety Systems, Medical Safety, Safety Sciences, and QPPVs) to align resources, manage governance, and support executive decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Execution & Governance

  • Coordinate Leadership Forums: Organize and facilitate global leadership meetings, business reviews, and alignment sessions to keep the executive team’s agenda moving forward.
  • Performance Tracking: Develop clear dashboards, KPIs, and metrics to give leadership an accurate look at organizational health and project status.
  • Strategic Support: Support the VP by compiling data, evaluating operational issues, and tracking the implementation of leadership decisions.

Portfolio Management & Resource Planning

  • Program Oversight: Track the execution of organizational goal (strategic and tactical), managing dependencies and cross-functional risks.
  • Resource Optimization: Coordinate workforce planning, budgeting, and forecasting across safety functions to align with business needs.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor long-term organizational capabilities and compile resource data to support leadership's prioritization.

Change Management & Internal Communications

  • Executive Communications Support: Manage the logistics and execution of VP’s communication channels, including organizing town halls, preparing presentation decks, and coordinating PSPV organization-wide updates.
  • Implementation Support: Help coordinate smooth change management and tracking when the PSPV LT rolls out new structures, processes, or corporate strategies.

Culture & Organizational Development

  • Leadership Culture: Coordinate and facilitate offsites, leadership development frameworks, and team-building initiatives.
  • Team Operations: Partner with HR to support leadership's talent development and retention strategies.

Process Optimization & Innovation

  • Drive Efficiency: Identify structural inefficiencies across safety functions and sponsor cross-functional projects to modernize workflows.
  • Technology partnership: Partner with systems and business teams to support the rollout and adoption of new automation and analytics tools.

Contract Oversight & Escalation

  • Accelerate Agreements: Work directly with Legal, Procurement, and Finance to resolve bottlenecks and speed up high-priority safety contracts.
  • Vendor Health Tracking: Monitor the milestones, deliverables, and financial impacts of key vendor agreements.
  • Issue Resolution: Serve as the senior escalation point to resolve any disputes with external safety partners.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Pharmacovigilance Background: A strong understanding of global PV operations, patient safety, and core regulations (FDA, EMA, ICH, GVP).
  • Matrix Leadership: Proven ability to influence senior leaders, build consensus, and drive accountability across a global organization.
  • Business Operations Expertise: Deep experience in organizational planning, corporate governance, change management, budget management, and executive reporting.
  • Execution Skills: Strong track record of managing complex, competing priorities and delivering clean operational results.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Education: Degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, or a related discipline (Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine). An advanced degree or training in Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred.
  • Industry Tenure: 12+ years of progressive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including direct support of pharmacovigilance or patient safety functions.
  • Leadership Track Record: At least 5 years in a leadership role partnering with senior executive teams to drive strategic initiatives, corporate governance, and business operations.
  • Execution Expertise: Proven history of leading cross-functional projects, managing global portfolios, resource planning, and optimizing organizational performance.

Core Competencies

  • PV Fluency: Clear understanding of global PV operations, patient safety, and core regulations (FDA, EMA, ICH, GVP).
  • Matrix Leadership: Proven ability to influence senior leaders, build consensus, and drive accountability across a global organization.
  • Execution Skills: Strong track record of managing complex, competing priorities and delivering clean operational results.

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $290,000- $350,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

 Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
