Located within five hours (300 miles) of 25 percent of the U.S. population, Watkins Glen International is the premier road racing facility in North America, three-times voted “Best NASCAR Track” by readers of USA Today. The Glen hosts a diverse portfolio of premier sports car, open wheel and stock car races throughout the year.
This is an event position: (Hours vary during events).
Duration of Position: April - November
Compensation for this position starts at $19.00 per hour but may vary depending on past experience, education, and skills.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional Interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to independently resolve problems as they arise
- Ability to de-escalate and react appropriately to stressful circumstances
- Ability to work alone and as a team member.
Responsibilities:
- Provide event specific information to guests
- Control access into hospitality areas, garages, paddocks and other areas requiring specific credentials
- Assist with ingress/egress traffic control and parking management
- Stay attentive and report any suspicious activity observed
- Utilize provided communication equipment (two-way radios)
- Respond to incidents and document as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirement:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to obtain a NYS Security Guard license required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Emergency Services experience preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from the track location
