As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Thomson Reuters, you will generate qualified sales opportunities through structured outbound prospecting for the US market. You will engage decision makers, uncover business needs and pain points, and schedule value-focused appointments for Account Executives while building a healthy pipeline and maintaining accurate records in CRM and sales tools.

This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional who is fluent in English, comfortable with complex B2B conversations, accountable for measurable outcomes, and interested in building a long-term career in sales.

Key Responsibilities

In this opportunity as a Sales Development Representative, you will:

  • Prospect and Engage: Make outbound calls and send targeted emails to customers and prospects, engaging US-based decision makers to identify needs, uncover pain points, and create interest in Thomson Reuters solutions.
  • Qualify Opportunities: Conduct discovery conversations, apply defined qualification criteria, and schedule value-focused appointments for Account Executives.
  • Build Pipeline: Create and manage a healthy pipeline through a structured outbound sales process, with accountability for appointments set and held, pipeline generated, and revenue from SDR-sourced opportunities.
  • Partner Across Teams: Collaborate with assigned Sales Representatives to align prospecting strategies and coordinate efforts with Training, Marketing, and Account Management teams.
  • Maintain Sales Discipline: Keep complete and accurate records of activities, leads, and opportunities in CRM and sales enablement tools, and consistently follow structured outreach sequences and follow-up processes.
  • Communicate Business Value: Develop strong product and market knowledge to translate complex solutions into clear, relevant business value for US-based customers.
  • Use Tools to Improve Results: Effectively use CRM systems, customer management platforms, sales enablement technology, and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and qualification quality.

Required Qualifications

You are an ideal fit for the Sales Development Representative role if your experience includes:

  • One or more years of experience in B2B sales, business development, outbound prospecting, or another revenue-focused role.
  • Advanced or fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written, with the ability to lead business conversations and communicate professionally with US-based customers.
  • Experience working toward quotas, KPIs, targets, or other measurable commercial outcomes, with a strong ownership mindset.
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales enablement tools, with the discipline to manage pipeline stages, maintain clean data, and complete timely follow-ups.
  • Strong discovery, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and articulate value clearly.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and operate effectively in a structured, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Training, and Account Management partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Documented history of measurable sales results, such as quota attainment, revenue generated, meetings set, or pipeline created.
  • Experience selling SaaS, tax and accounting technology, fintech, legal or compliance solutions, or other complex B2B services.
  • Previous experience engaging decision makers and senior stakeholders in the US market.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline.
  • Clear interest in developing a long-term sales career, with evidence of commercial maturity, territory ownership, mentoring, coaching, or other early leadership behaviors.
