Role Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team driving the quality and evolution of the A1 XploreTV platform.
In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of user experience for our Android TV, Set-Top Box (STB), and Smart TV applications. You will play a key part in testing next-generation custom launcher architectures, operator-tier integrations, and cutting-edge UI components. If you have a sharp eye for design inconsistencies, a passion for exploring edge cases, and love ensuring a seamless video streaming experience, this is the place for you.

Your daily routine would include:

• End-to-End Testing: Plan, write, and execute comprehensive manual test cases covering critical user journeys, video playback stability, and cross-platform consistency.
• UI/UX Verification: Validate user interface layouts, focus management, and fluid animations specifically optimized for TV hardware and D-pad (remote control) navigation.
• Functional & Regression Testing: Perform thorough functional, regression, and exploratory testing on new features, custom launchers, and mandatory system updates before production rollouts.
• API & Data Validation: Verify data-fetching layers by analyzing network traffic and checking that frontend components correctly display information from our GraphQL backend.
• Defect Management: Identify, isolate, document, and track bugs in detail (including logs, steps to reproduce, and video captures), collaborating closely with Android developers to ensure swift resolution.
• Agile Collaboration: Work closely within a multidisciplinary agile team alongside Developers, UX/UI Designers, and Business Analysts to champion quality from design to release.

We’ll know you can make it if you have:

• 2+ years of professional experience in manual QA testing (experience with Android TV, Smart TV platforms, or STB devices is a major plus). 
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies (functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing). 
• Experience with testing tools: Proficiency with issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira), test management tools, and log capturing/network analysis tools (e.g., Charles Proxy, Fiddler, ADB). 
• Familiarity with modern data structures: Basic understanding of API structures (GraphQL/REST) to help trace data flow inconsistencies between backend and UI.
• Device testing experience: Hands-on experience working with physical consumer devices, firmware variations, and hardware constraints.
• Strong analytical mind with exceptional attention to detail—you naturally spot alignment issues, latency lags, and subtle edge-case bugs.
• Team player with strong communication skills who enjoys collaborative problem-solving.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
