Project Manager- Safe Water Project

Contract type: Fixed term – 1years (Renewable)- 40 hours per week

 

Location: The role is based in Kigali, Rwanda

 

Salary: Rwanda grade band E, annual basic salary: RWF25,837,633 – RWF33,690,445 with excellent benefits

About the team

WaterAid Rwanda (WARw) works through supporting local organizations and government to plan and implement inclusive and sustainable services of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). WARw also seeks to influence the policy change through government and other key WASH stakeholders to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services. Occupying the position of Business development in WaterAid is an exciting opportunity to work with WaterAid and contribute to the achievement of the national and global goals towards realizing the WASH access for everyone everywhere.

 

About the role

As our Project Manager for Safe Water Project, you will report to the Program Manager- Universal WASH and work closely with WaterAid Rwanda Senior Management Team, Country Programme staff, WaterAid Rwanda Partners, Government Officials – Local and National, Civil Society Organisations, Donors, and other INGOsto drive sustainable change.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, Water engineering, Sanitation, Public Health, Environmental health Science, Environmental Management, or other related fields.
  • Minimum 7 years working experience in similar or related roles for candidates with bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Water Engineering, Sanitation, Public Health, Environmental Health Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years working experience in similar or related roles for candidates with master’s degree in civil engineering, Water engineering, Sanitation, Public Health, Environmental Health Science, Environmental Management, or other related fields.
  • Experience of working with INGO in areas of WASH is required

 

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

  • Understanding of international development or the WASH sector.
  • Proficiency in English, Kinyarwanda, and French will be an added value.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural settings and with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Statutory Employer’s 8% contribution of your monthly basic salary to your National Social Security Fund (NSSF). You also contribute 6% of your basic salary to the same pension scheme.
  • Enhanced parental leave (maternity, adoption/surrogacy, and paternity)
