Über diese Program Director, Practice Management Consultant Stelle bei SEI

SEI · Remote · USA - Remote

SEI's Wealth business is seeking a results-oriented Practice Management Consultant to specialize in helping advisory firms gain and maintain scale—capacity, efficiency, and consistency—through their people and culture.

This people-centric leader will be responsible for helping to build and evolve SEI's Practice Management "scale" function in close partnership with SEI’s Technology and Operations Consultant and alongside the "growth" and "evolve" functions. An ideal candidate is willing and able to strategize, experiment, and execute solutions that deliver actionable and impactful advice and resources to SEI’s independent broker dealer and RIA clients. We're looking for an individual who is an expert in all things talent—hiring, onboarding, management, leadership, culture, talent development, and compensation planning—helping firms build and develop high-performing teams that drive sustainable growth, profitability, and enterprise value.

This role will also help advisory firms evolve their talent strategy to evolve in an everchanging, digital and AI-native world—reimagining roles, workflows, competencies, and career paths as AI and automation reshape how advisory work gets done. The consultant will guide firms in identifying which capabilities to build internally, which to augment with technology, and how to prepare their teams to thrive alongside AI-enabled tools and platforms.

Equally important, this consultant will help advisors think like business owners when it comes to their people—treating talent and productivity as strategic investments rather than operational expenses. They will coach firm leaders on measuring return on talent, aligning compensation and productivity, making disciplined hiring and workforce planning decisions, and building the systems, metrics, and management practices that turn a group of professionals into a scalable, high-performing enterprise.

This practice management role is tailored for individuals deeply enthusiastic about the independent advisor profession, committed to ongoing learning, and able to leverage their expertise in talent, people, and culture to drive meaningful outcomes within advisory practices. An ideal candidate possesses a background as a Chief People Officer, Head of Talent, HR leader, COO, business owner, coach, or consultant with substantial real-world experience helping service businesses build and scale high-performing teams, and is experienced and networked in the wealth management industry. They understand the unique talent challenges of independent advisory firms of all sizes—both small ($100M+) and large firms ($2B+ AUM)—and are excited to expand our practice management advice and resources to support scalable growth through people.

This role is a remote role. The role requires up to 20% travel.

What you will do:

  • Provide expert consultation, coaching, and education to independent advisory practices on talent-focused practice management topics, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, organizational design, compensation planning, employee engagement, retention, and culture building.

  • Help advisory firms evolve their talent strategy for a digital and AI-native world—guiding them to redesign roles, workflows, competencies, and career paths so their teams can thrive alongside AI and automation.

  • Coach advisors to think like business owners when it comes to their people—treating talent and productivity as strategic investments, measuring return on talent, and applying disciplined workforce planning, capacity, and compensation decisions to drive profitability and enterprise value.

  • Be an integral, expert resource to help SEI attract and onboard mid-to-large and growing advisory firms ($500M+) by demonstrating how strong talent strategies drive business results.

  • Conduct thorough assessments of firms' talent, leadership, organizational, and cultural strengths, gaps, and readiness, and offer actionable and customized recommendations.

  • Develop and deliver engaging content including presentations, workshops, and training sessions to advisors and their teams on talent, people, culture, and related practice management topics.

  • Create scalable resources, tools, playbooks, frameworks, and educational content to help advisors plan for and execute team-building, leadership succession, and culture development as they grow organically and inorganically.

  • Build and deliver curriculum designed to develop the next generation of advisors, operations leads, and firm leaders—supporting career pathing, competency building, and long-term firm sustainability.

  • Lead and grow the SEI Next Gen Community, creating meaningful development experiences, peer networking opportunities, and ongoing educational programming for emerging advisor and operations talent.

  • Partner closely with SEI's People and Culture team to bring proven talent best practices to SEI's advisor clients, including StrengthsFinder, DISC, and other behavioral assessments, leadership development tools, and organizational effectiveness frameworks.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance how SEI connects talent with hiring advisory firms at scale.

  • Work in close partnership with fellow Practice Management Consultants across the growth, scale, and transition pillars to deliver holistic, integrated advice to advisors.

  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with external talent-focused experts, consultants, coaches, assessment providers, and service providers to deliver additional value to advisors.

  • Direct and manage special projects on the Advisor Services Team related to talent, workforce development, and culture-focused strategies.

  • Act as a thought leader by contributing articles, webinars, podcasts, and other educational content on talent, leadership, and culture within advisory firms.

What we need from you:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience helping financial advisors and/or professional service firms grow, scale, and strengthen their businesses through roles in talent management, human resources, organizational development, coaching, consulting, practice management, or leadership within advisory firms.

  • Deep expertise across the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, leadership development, compensation design, succession planning, engagement, and retention.

  • Working knowledge of how AI, automation, and digital tools are reshaping roles, workflows, and productivity within professional service and advisory firms—and how to translate that into practical talent strategy.

  • Business-owner mindset with the ability to help firm leaders view talent and productivity as strategic investments—measuring ROI, aligning compensation with outcomes, and connecting people decisions to enterprise value.

  • First-hand experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams—ideally within advisory firms or similar professional service businesses.

  • Deep understanding of the independent advisor and RIA landscape, including the unique talent, leadership, and culture challenges facing advisory firms today.

  • Experience designing and facilitating leadership development programs, team workshops, and educational experiences for professionals at all career stages.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to present complex topics in a clear, confident, and compelling way.

  • Experience in multi-channel communication mediums, including individual face-to-face interactions, in-person and virtual one-to-many presentations, live video, recorded video, phone and email.

  • Proven track record of driving successful team-building, leadership effectiveness, engagement, retention, and cultural outcomes for organizations and their staff.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate high-level talent strategies into practical, actionable advice and plans.

  • Passion for developing others, particularly next-generation advisor and operations talent.

  • Highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and growth minded.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to support advisor events, presentations, community programming, and relationship management efforts.

What we would like from you:

  • Professional certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, DISC Certification, ICF Coaching credentials, CFP®, CIMA®, or CEPA® are advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Experience designing educational content, curriculum, playbooks, or decision frameworks to support advisor team-building and leadership development.

  • Experience helping firms adopt AI-enabled tools, redesign workflows, or build digital-first operating models.

  • Experience building and leading peer communities, mentorship programs, or leadership academies.

  • Familiarity with compensation benchmarking, career pathing frameworks, productivity metrics, and organizational design for advisory firms.

  • Proficiency in analyzing people metrics, productivity data, and organizational performance data to inform talent strategies and investment decisions.

  • Someone who will embody our SEI Values of courage, integrity, collaboration, inclusion, connection and fun. Please see our website for more information. https://www.seic.com/

The total compensation for this position is expected to range from $150,000 to $250,000, commensurate with experience, with additional incentive compensation opportunities available.
