The Data Analytics Support will assist with aggregating data (such as material compositions, chemicals, and regulatory data) from our global suppliers and transforming this information into actions needed to drive BD’s Sustainability 2030+ sustainability strategy. This person will be a member of an organization of dedicated individuals helping to drive BD’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and working to identify and reduce the environmental impact of our portfolio and address the sustainability needs of our customers.
 

The Data Analyst is empowered to support our design centers, business units, and customers by analyzing and reporting material composition, chemical content, and regulatory information. The role will translate business questions into clear, repeatable reporting outputs (including Power BI dashboards), and will help ensure reporting definitions, data refreshes, and visualizations remain accurate and up to date.
 

This person will be responsible for understanding how information flows between our systems, end users, and customers, including the data sources and pipelines that feed our reporting and Power BI environments.

The role will also support data migration and system integration initiatives by partnering with the business to ensure high data quality and completeness, eliminating irrelevant or inaccurate data, and will perform basic statistical and analytical work to support modeling and scenario analysis. This person will also help validate and troubleshoot Power BI reports (e.g., refresh issues, data integrity checks, and KPI logic) and be comfortable presenting insights to key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design processes and methods to integrate data from a variety of source/host systems into centralized reporting tools
• Create, maintain, and communicate key metrics and KPIs to cross-functional stakeholders
• Visualize collected data in a repeatable format, such as a dashboard or operative cockpit
• Support the creation, publication, and ongoing maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards, including refresh monitoring, data validation, and KPI definition alignment
• Understand and communicate technology and tools which may help us report in clearer and more concise ways
• Convert business requirements into reportable datasets
• Support data migration and system integration projects by coordinating business data collection, performing data cleansing/reconciliation, and executing validation checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Develop innovative techniques to communicate relevant data to drive BD Excellence

Education and Experience:

Bachelor level degree

Knowledge and Skills:

• Eager to learn and grow
• Constructively challenge with a positive attitude
• Understand the complexity & basic principles of Global Materials of Concern Regulations
• Enjoy interpreting complex datasets and communicating them to non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical and Excel skills to support data collection and validation (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data cleansing, and reconciliation checks)
• Comfortable visualizing and developing tools to drive our key metrics and reporting structure
• Have experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with an emphasis on SAP, JD Edwards, and MfgPro.
• Enjoy presenting the outcomes of your analysis to stakeholders and Business Leaders
• Confident utilizing technology, such as PowerBI, and automation to assist with data analysis
• Able to support Power BI report operations, including refresh monitoring, troubleshooting common issues, and ensuring KPI definitions and documentation remain consistent
• Balance teamwork with individual problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented
• Strong interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Have demonstrated experience and enjoy leading, influencing without authority, and consulting international, cross-functional teams
• Action-oriented and decisive

Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (18 months approximately)
This position is offered on a fixed-term basis to support the team during a maternity leave cover period.
