Alteryx is looking for a Principal Product Manager to define and drive the future of Live Query—the Alteryx experience for building and executing analytics directly within cloud data platforms.

Live Query sits at the intersection of analytics, cloud data platforms, enterprise governance, user experience, and AI. This role owns the end-to-end product experience: from connecting to enterprise data and creating a first workflow through interactive analysis, governed execution, operationalization, and integration with AI agents.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with broad influence across Product, Engineering, UX, Go-to-Market, customers, partners, and Alteryx leadership. The successful candidate will operate independently, turn ambiguity into clear direction, and lead multiple teams toward measurable customer and business outcomes.

What you will do:

Define product strategy

• Define and evolve the multi-year Live Query strategy across Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Databricks, Amazon Redshift, and the broader cloud data platform ecosystem.

• Identify high-leverage opportunities using customer research, product telemetry, competitive developments, technology shifts, and market trends.

• Translate ambiguous problems into strategic choices, investment proposals, roadmaps, business cases, and measurable outcomes.

• Balance near-term customer needs with the scalable platform capabilities required for Alteryx’s long-term growth and differentiation.

Own the customer journey and drive adoption

• Own the complete Live Query journey, including discovery, setup, connectivity, workflow creation, execution, sharing, governance, and operationalization.

• Partner with UX and Research to identify friction, simplify complex enterprise workflows, and reduce time to first value through research, telemetry, funnel analysis, and direct customer observation.

• Work with Solutions Engineering and Technical Account Management to evaluate prospective customers, validate use cases and technical requirements, and establish credible paths to production.

• Identify existing customer workloads that should move to Live Query and develop repeatable qualification, migration, and adoption plays with Sales and Customer Success.

• Define and improve metrics for acquisition, activation, repeat usage, operational adoption, retention, and expansion.

Build for an AI-first future

• Evaluate major investments through an AI-first and agentic lens, focusing on where AI can materially reduce complexity and time to value.

• Define how Live Query capabilities can be discovered and invoked through Ask Alteryx, Alteryx agents, MCP-based experiences, and customers’ preferred AI agents.

• Develop patterns that allow agents to create, explain, execute, monitor, and improve analytics workflows safely.

• Ensure agentic capabilities provide appropriate transparency, user control, permissions, governance, and explainability.

Lead enterprise data platform strategy

• Develop a deep understanding of cloud data platform architecture, economics, performance, security, and governance.

• Address enterprise requirements involving identity, permissions, service accounts, privacy, residency, lineage, auditability, and governed execution.

• Identify scalable foundations across cloud platforms while accounting for their architectural and commercial differences.

• Partner with engineering and architecture leaders on decisions involving pushdown execution, data movement, performance, workload management, cloud consumption costs, dependencies, technical risk, and sequencing.

Drive outcomes across the organization

• Lead product direction across Engineering teams in Europe, India, and the United States, aligning Product, UX, architecture, security, governance, documentation, platform, and GTM teams around a cohesive strategy.

• Establish clear decision mechanisms, operating rhythms, success measures, ownership, and accountability across teams.

• Surface organizational and technical dependencies early, resolve disagreement without relying on direct authority, and challenge existing plans when supported by evidence.

• Present strategy, investment recommendations, progress, and risks to senior leadership, customers, and cloud data platform partners.

• Lead customer discovery, roadmap discussions, executive briefings, demonstrations, advisory sessions, critical escalations, and industry engagements.

Elevate the Product organization

• Model rigorous product thinking, customer focus, analytical discipline, and clear communication.

• Coach PMs in discovery, strategy, prioritization, metrics, stakeholder management, and executive communication.

• Improve how the organization evaluates opportunities, documents decisions, measures outcomes, and learns from releases.

What we are looking for

• At least 8 years of product-management experience, including ownership of complex enterprise or platform products.

• Demonstrated success defining strategy and delivering measurable customer and business results across multiple teams.

• Direct experience with one or more of Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift, with working fluency across the broader cloud data platform market.

• Strong technical and analytical capabilities, including telemetry, funnels, segmentation, market analysis, architecture trade-offs, and success-measure definition.

• Experience with enterprise security, permissions, privacy, data governance, or regulated-data environments.

• Experience owning an end-to-end journey that crosses product and organizational boundaries.

• Understanding of modern AI and agentic product patterns, including APIs, tools, orchestration, context, permissions, and human oversight.

• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, resolve cross-functional disagreement, and make progress in ambiguous environments.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication across technical, executive, customer, and commercial audiences.

• Experience mentoring PMs and improving product practices beyond an immediate area.

• Strong opinions grounded in evidence, combined with the intellectual humility to change direction when better evidence emerges.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience building analytics, data integration, data engineering, database, or business-intelligence products.

• Experience with SQL pushdown, query engines, distributed computation, or cloud workload economics.

• Experience building platform capabilities consumed through APIs, SDKs, MCP servers, or AI agents.

• Experience taking an emerging product from early adoption to repeatable enterprise growth.

• Experience presenting at industry events or working directly with executive-level customers.
