Function Purpose:


The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for coordinating logistics operations, ensuring efficiency in the storage, movement, and dispatch of finished goods. Leads the warehousing team, promoting the organization of physical space and meeting deadlines while implementing Environment, Health, Safety, Quality, and Asset Security (EHSQS) practices. Additionally, they monitor performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and coordinate the initiation and request of projects to optimize processes and increase warehouse efficiency. Collaborate with all areas to ensure an efficient flow of goods and quickly resolve issues. The supervisor actively participate in the recruitment and selection of the team, promoting continuous training to ensure all employees are up-to-date with the best logistics practices. Furthermore, they control the proper use of warehouse resources, including equipment and materials, ensuring those are in good condition through preventive and corrective maintenance. He is responsible for executing activities related to the Journey to Excellence and accompanying external audits of quality, safety, and inventories, ensuring compliance with established standards and promoting continuous improvement in operations.


Scope:


Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide the warehouse team: promote alignment with operational goals and compliance with safety standards, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide continuous feedback to the team to ensure constant improvement.

• Plan, organize, and oversee activities related to the receipt, storage, sorting, verification, and dispatch of goods.

• Ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each activity, ensuring all processes are carried out efficiently and accurately.

• Ensure the correct organization and utilization of warehouse physical space: periodically review the warehouse layout to identify areas that can be optimized, promoting efficiency in workflow and goods movement.

• Monitor performance indicators (KPIs): Prepare operational reports and analyze collected data to make informed decisions about operational improvements and share these analyses with senior management.

• Implement and supervise processes to minimize losses, damage, and operational errors: Establish a tracking system to quickly identify the causes of losses and implement corrective solutions.

• Ensure warehouse equipment is in suitable condition for use: Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance. Ensure all employees are trained in the safe and effective use of equipment.

• Promote training for the team: Develop a continuous training plan that includes not only equipment operation but also topics such as workplace safety and best logistics practices.

• Work collaboratively with other areas: Maintain open communication with purchasing, logistics, transportation, and customer service teams to ensure warehouse operations are aligned with the company's overall objectives.

• Operations Control: Schedule and control activities related to the receipt, storage, sorting, and dispatch of goods, seeking efficiency and punctuality.

• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor goods movement, and ensure stock accuracy. This includes implementing or automating systems that assist in inventory management.

• Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety standards and company policies. The supervisor must promote a safe environment for all employees.

• Create formal proposals for new projects, including objectives, scope, timeline, and required resources;

• Present project proposals to senior management, highlighting expected benefits and positive impact on warehouse operations.

• Evaluate existing processes and identify areas needing improvements or innovations.

• Upon approval, oversee project implementation, ensuring deadlines and budgets are respected;

• Evaluate project results upon completion to measure impact and identify lessons learned for future initiatives.

• Fill out KPIs.;

• Report EHSQS deviations.

• Participate in programs and activities related to EHSQS.

• Execute activities related to the Journey to Excellence.

• Accompany external audits of quality, safety, and inventories.


Authority

• Make operational decisions regarding resource allocation and adjustments in daily processes within their area of responsibility.

• Participate in and schedule training process of the operational team, ensuring all team members are adequately trained.

• Follow internal policies related to safety and operational efficiency in the receipt and dispatch of goods.

• Communicate operational results, challenges faced, and improvement proposals to Logistics Manager and Plant Manager.

• Request preventive and corrective maintenance for equipment used in receipt and dispatch.

• Approve cycle counts and physical counts within their area of responsibility.

• Train and guide new employees in established procedures for the receipt and dispatch of goods.

• Stop any activity that poses a risk to employees, products, environment, and the organization's assets. Recipe for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with ERP systems (TOTVS, SAP).

• Initiative, safety and quality orientation, creativity, organization, and teamwork.

• Attention to detail, leadership as a reference in the field.

• Driven by purpose (Transforming lives through food science).

• Knowledge of inventory management and dispatch activities.
