You will play a pivotal part in coordinating key business activities, managing KPIs, and supporting high-impact projects that shape the future of the organisation. The position provides exposure to a wide range of business functions, giving you the opportunities to build strong professional relationships and contribute meaningfully to both local and regional objectives. Flexible working opportunities, generous training programmes, and supportive leadership are just some of the benefits you can expect as you grow your career in this dynamic environment.

  • You will be central to driving cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment across management, business sectors, regional offices, and support functions by coordinating communication and stakeholder engagement.

  • Your analytical skills will be utilised in preparing management reports, dashboards, presentations, and business documentation that support effective decision-making and performance tracking for strategic initiatives.

  • The role offers significant scope for personal growth through involvement in digital transformation projects, process improvement activities, and exposure to diverse business areas within a supportive team environment.

What you'll do:

As a Business Planning Analyst based in Sydney, you will immerse yourself in a variety of responsibilities designed to enhance organisational capability across Oceania. Your day-to-day work will involve supporting strategic planning efforts by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and Balanced Scorecards (BSC), ensuring robust governance practices are maintained throughout the organisation. You will coordinate communications between different teams—management, regional offices, support functions—to foster alignment on critical objectives. Preparing insightful management reports, presentations, meeting materials, and documentation will be a regular part of your routine as you help drive informed decision-making at all levels. Your analytical expertise will be called upon for conducting thorough business analyses that underpin the development of new frameworks or tools aimed at boosting operational effectiveness. You’ll also manage data collection processes across various sectors to identify areas for improvement in efficiency. Acting as a liaison between internal stakeholders—including regional partners—you’ll facilitate information sharing while organising stakeholder engagement activities such as seminars or networking events. Success in this role requires an ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail; your contributions will directly impact the achievement of strategic goals within a collaborative team environment.

  • Support business planning activities by monitoring performance metrics such as KPIs and Balanced Scorecards (BSC), ensuring accurate reporting and governance across multiple functions.

  • Support RMs and Sector Managers leading strategic planning, market analysis, data management, and the development of internal frameworks and policies to drive sustainable business growth and effective business operations.

  • Coordinate communication between management teams, business sectors, regional offices, and support functions to facilitate effective stakeholder engagement and alignment on strategic objectives.

  • Prepare comprehensive management reports, presentations, meeting materials, and business documentation while supporting both Regional Office and Head Office reporting requirements.

  • Conduct detailed business analysis to develop management frameworks, operational processes, business tools, and administrative activities that enhance organisational effectiveness.

  • Perform data analysis for KPI/BSC management by maintaining dashboards and analytical materials that inform decision-making and track progress against strategic initiatives.

  • Monitor ongoing projects and key business plans by providing timely insights and reporting to ensure intended outcomes are achieved.

  • Coordinate data collection processes across various sectors to identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and business effectiveness.

  • Act as a liaison with regional offices, Head Office, and internal stakeholders to support information sharing, reporting requirements, and collaborative business initiatives.

  • Build effective working relationships with regional partners and other stakeholders to facilitate successful delivery of business objectives through coordinated communications.

  • Organise stakeholder engagement activities including seminars, networking events, and other promotional initiatives by managing event administration and communication.

What you bring:

To excel as a Planning Analyst in Sydney’s financial sector you will bring proven experience from roles involving banking operations or corporate finance—ideally with exposure to KPI management systems or Balanced Scorecard methodologies. Your technical proficiency spans advanced Excel usage for analysing large datasets alongside PowerPoint skills for producing clear presentations tailored to senior audiences. You have demonstrated an ability to interpret complex data sets—translating findings into actionable recommendations that drive improved performance outcomes. Time management is one of your core strengths: you thrive when balancing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining responsiveness towards stakeholder needs. Communication comes naturally; whether collaborating across departments or presenting results at meetings you convey information succinctly yet thoroughly. Interpersonal skills are equally important: your capacity for building relationships ensures smooth coordination between internal teams or external partners alike. You approach challenges proactively—taking initiative where needed—and consistently deliver work marked by precision thanks to your detail-oriented nature. Whether working autonomously or within collaborative groups you adapt quickly without sacrificing quality even under pressure. Academic credentials such as an undergraduate degree in Economics/Finance/Accounting/Law are expected; additional qualifications like CA/CFA/MBA further distinguish your profile though relevant experience remains paramount.

  • Demonstrated understanding of banking operations combined with experience in business planning processes including KPI management and reporting responsibilities.

  • Advanced analytical skills supported by proficiency in Excel for data manipulation as well as PowerPoint for creating impactful presentations.

  • Ability to analyse complex datasets effectively—identifying issues or opportunities—and provide actionable insights that support sound business decisions.

  • Strong time management capabilities enabling you to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while responding promptly to stakeholder requests within tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills paired with proven stakeholder management abilities allowing you to collaborate seamlessly across functions or regions.

  • Interpersonal strengths including coordination skills for building relationships with internal/external partners plus presentation skills for conveying information clearly.

  • Proactive approach coupled with self-motivation; you demonstrate ownership over your work while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

  • Detail-oriented mindset ensuring meticulous organisation when managing competing priorities or large volumes of information.

  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting—adapting quickly in fast-paced environments without compromising quality.

  • Undergraduate qualification in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Law; Chartered Accountant/Chartered Financial Analyst/MBA qualifications are highly regarded; 3+ years’ experience in Corporate Finance or Chartered Accounting is desirable but not essential.
