Job Responsibilities & Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
- Ability to read blue prints.
- Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to painting using prescribed fixtures and proper work procedures.
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the painting trade.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Monitor painting processes to assure desired finish is achieved.
- Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify the Foreman or management.
- Determine required equipment and painting methods via established work procedures and apply proper painting techniques.
- Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
- Position and secure work-pieces, using hoists, cranes etc.
- Improve appearance of materials using sand blasting equipment.
- Package material and help load and unload trucks as instructed.
- Any other job duties assigned within and outside of the painting department, as needed.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
Experience: One to two years related experience preferred, but not required.
