The Opportunity

The Operations - Project Manager Internship is an outstanding program where you’ll get to learn from experienced professionals and gain hands-on-experience in the Life Co organization.

This role supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of business initiatives that drive strategic and operational outcomes across Life Company. Working alongside experienced project managers and cross-functional teams, this role contributes to project planning, stakeholder communication, progress tracking, risk identification, and execution activities that help teams achieve business objectives.

Through meaningful project assignments, you will understand how strategy is translated into execution while developing foundational skills in project management, business operations, problem solving, and collaboration. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to real business outcomes while building the capabilities needed for future project management career opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Learn how strategy is translated into executable roadmaps, projects, and measurable business outcomes.

• Partner with project managers and cross-functional teams to support the delivery of strategic initiatives that drive meaningful business results.

• Support project planning by coordinating timelines, tracking milestones, and helping teams stay aligned on priorities and deliverables.

• Analyze project data, metrics, and progress updates to identify trends and provide insights that support decision-making.

• Build skills in stakeholder management, project communications, problem solving, and organizational collaboration while working alongside experienced project professionals.

What you need to have:

To qualify, you must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2027 internship will start on June 2, 2027 and last through August 13, 2027.

• Graduation date cannot be prior to August 13, 2027

• Graduation date between August 2027 and June 2028

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Management, Ops Research, Data & Analytics, IT, Computer Science.

• Demonstrated leadership through academic projects, student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or other team-based experiences.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn information and data into actionable insights.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to work across teams and present ideas to diverse audiences.

• Coursework or experience in project management, business analytics, operations, organizational leadership, Agile methodologies, or related disciplines.

• Pursuing a master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Project Management, or related field

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $24- $26. Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the hourly range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual hourly rate for this role may vary by location.
