The Operations Manager exercises control over all operations and production activities, ensuring operational delivery and the highest standards for services provided by employees and contractors. He is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the performance of all offshore operations in Gabon, including human and material resources, to maintain and develop business growth in line with overall strategy and safety.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Responsible for managing field production operations for BWE assets.
Responsible for coordinating field development with the project team (drilling, SURF, and construction) and FPSO operations.
Responsible for performance management of production and crude oil removal operations
Responsible for preparing and controlling operating budgets, taking into account FPSO variance orders.
Responsible for ensuring that all tasks performed by staff and contractors comply with HSE requirements.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with regulations and environmental and corporate objectives.
Coordinate all phases of production, well workover, drilling, and completion (during the drilling program).
Coordinate helicopter and vessel movements to the field with logistics, production and drilling departments, including prioritization and justification of production PAX and equipment as required.
Coordinate crude oïl removal
Liaise with local contractors
Coordinate with DGH and other relevant government agencies, such as DGE
Coordinate with DGH to conduct hazard studies and carry out EIAs.
Make entries to analyse and optimize the performance of each well.
Use various production monitoring techniques to control well productivity on a daily basis.
Work with field operations staff to ensure production targets and cost controls are met.
In collaboration with reservoir engineers and geologists, determine the most efficient means of well/field development, considering crude oil characteristics, reservoir type and project economics.
Identify wells to boost production.
Monitor multiple well operations, including workovers, production, and related facilities.
Determine which wells require production improvement and recommend procedures or processes to maintain or increase production.
Responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing short- and long-term production plans and forecasts for wells and fields, as well as maintaining required safety training and compliance.
Participate in setting up and optimizing procedures and supervising well start-up, including artificial lift (gas lift or ESP).
Work closely with management to achieve financial, production and other corporate objectives.
Advise management, technical and engineering staff on production operations and optimizing efforts to increase oil recovery.
Key member of the zone assets team.
Work in a collaborative environment with the production engineer, offshore company men and Houston engineering team as well as the FPSO fleet manager.
Requirements
The incumbent has the necessary authority to carry out the responsibilities detailed above.
Required Qualifications
Education
Master in engineering preferable
Professional experience
The candidate must have 15 or more years' experience in production and operations, with at least 5 years in Operations Manager role
Ideally, experience in the offshore and FPSO industry.
Previous experience in Oil & Gas in Gabon and in a multicultural environment preferred.

Knowledge
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word
