PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES   

• Coordinate ocean shipments for import / export, including booking, documentation, and dispatch. 
• Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transport providers to ensure smooth cargo movement. 
• Prepare and process bills of lading, customs declarations, and other required documentation. 
• Monitor shipments and ensure they travel as planned; proactively communicate any delays or disruptions to customers and stakeholders. 
• Coordinate cargo pick-ups and deliveries, including local transport arrangements and warehouse interactions. 
• Overall job management including WIPS, accruals, costs and closures.  
• Timely and accurate processing of customer invoices, reports and creditor approvals.  
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal systems (e.g., CargoWise One). 
• Ensure compliance with country customs, quarantine, and maritime regulations. 
• Respond to customer inquiries, provide booking confirmations, and maintain strong client relationships through timely communication. 
• Manage invoicing, cost allocations, and creditor approvals; identify opportunities for rate reviews and cost control. 
• Demonstrate commercial awareness by understanding job profitability and contributing to financial performance. 

Previous Work Experience & Qualifications 

• 1–3 years’ experience in ocean operations 
• Understanding of country customs and air cargo regulations. 
• Familiarity with freight management systems and Microsoft Office. 
• Strong organisational and communication skills. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance. 
• Team player with a proactive and customer-focused approach. 
• Willingness to learn and take on varied operational tasks.
