Department Overview

Krakow PCR department (Professional and Commercial Radio) develops and delivers software solutions used for business & mission critical communications and workflows in MOTOTRBO systems.

Our solutions are omnipresent globally in many life-critical verticals: healthcare, public safety, transportation, logistics, education, hospitality, energy, manufacturing, retail etc. Indeed, we help people in the moments that are important to them.

We are responsible for end-to-end software development life-cycle, including: specification and design, implementation, testing (unit-to-system level), delivery and maintenance.

In our products we use a number of technologies related to both on-premise and cloud-based development. Recently we expanded our technology stack with mobile app development.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join our Transport team responsible for preparing and maintaining IP network configurations for a large-scale telecommunications system. We act as the core networking backbone for MOTOTRBO IP networks, making sure that communications remain uninterrupted, protected, and scalable. Our group creates novel network features, validates hardware like switches and routers, tests firmware rigorously, and builds uniform config templates for various operational setups. We work closely with networking equipment vendors, including HPE, Aruba, and Juniper.
 

Your Responsibilities

As an engineer in our group, you will handle hands-on network architecture, security implementation, and scripting. Your main tasks will be:

• Network Design: Planning and configuring layouts such as native OSPF (No-Tunnel), Hub-and-Spoke (GRE/IPsec), and dynamic mesh VPNs (ADVPN/AVPN).
• Routing setup: Implementing dynamic routing (OSPF, eBGP) for large-scale
• deployments.
• Security: Setting up network defense segments, deploying Intrusion Detection Systems, managing PKI, and performing vulnerability scans.
• Automation: Maintaining internal automation platforms using Python, PowerShell, and JS.
• Validation: Active network probing, unifying event data, and running continuous load tests.
• Lab Operations: Managing our expansive hardware infrastructure, including isolated air-gapped lab environments.

Basic Requirements

• Degree in IT, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or similar.
• Practical experience configuring network hardware, specifically Juniper (SRX/EX) and
• HPE/Aruba.
• Solid understanding of IP networks, dynamic routing, and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN concepts and VPN overlays.
• Basic Linux operating system and virtualization knowledge.
• Fluent English for technical communication.
• An analytical mindset with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and highly motivated.
• Hybrid work mode (one to two times from the KRK office per week)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of land mobile radio architectures.
• Experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell).
• Cybersecurity background, including system hardening.
• Active networking certifications.
