• Prepare equipment and supplies for providers and assist with clinical visit needs.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and provider instructions to patients using clear and compassionate communication.
• Collect, log, and prepare blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens for testing; perform phlebotomy when competency is demonstrated.
• Support general office needs, including phone coverage, forms, coordination with other departments, and patient advocacy.
• Maintain inventory, support immunization workflows as applicable, and contribute to departmental quality initiatives such as hand hygiene and two patient identifiers.
• Assist with onboarding and day-to-day support for junior Medical Assistants when needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
  • Direct Medical Assistant experience or medical field experience of 1–2 years required.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
  • Comfort using electronic health record systems and medical office software.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, accuracy, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to manage competing priorities are important for success in this role.
