About the Team

The General Assembly Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team enables Lucid to launch safe, efficient, production-ready assembly processes at scale. The team partners across Product Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to translate vehicle requirements into capable manufacturing equipment and tooling. This group is unique in its end-to-end ownership of equipment strategy, supplier execution, validation, installation, commissioning, and operational handoff, giving team members direct visibility into how engineering decisions affect quality, throughput, safety, and launch readiness.

About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineer I is an entry-level individual contributor role within General Assembly Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and reports to a Manufacturing Engineering leader. This role exists to support Lucid’s growth by assisting with equipment procurement, integration, validation, and launch readiness for General Assembly programs. In the first 12 months, this person will support assigned equipment and tooling activities, learn Lucid’s manufacturing standards, assist with issue tracking and documentation, and contribute to safe, capable, production-ready processes. A strong candidate will bring curiosity, technical fundamentals, hands-on problem-solving, and a willingness to learn across supplier coordination, acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, and operational handoff.

What You Own

  • Equipment Support: Assist with equipment and tooling scopes, technical specifications, and RFQ inputs that align safety, quality, cycle time, throughput, maintainability, timing, and cost requirements.
  • Supplier Coordination: Support supplier proposal reviews, technical clarification, documentation follow-up, and purchase-order readiness in partnership with senior engineers, Purchasing, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Project Execution: Support assigned equipment projects through design review, build, Factory Acceptance Testing, shipment, installation, commissioning, ramp-up, and final acceptance activities.
  • Launch Readiness: Help maintain project schedules, issue lists, risk trackers, action-item logs, and recovery plans to support on-time equipment launch execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Design, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Facilities, Supply Chain, and supplier teams to help resolve technical and launch issues with clear follow-up and communication.
  • Process Validation: Assist with confirming acceptance criteria for safety, ergonomics, quality, cycle time, throughput, maintainability, and specification compliance before handoff to Operations.
  • Operational Handoff: Support documentation, training inputs, spare-parts tracking, open-item closure, and lessons learned to improve future launch execution.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field;
  • Lucid completion of Internship, co-op, academic project, or hands-on manufacturing experience
  • 2 years or less of experience in manufacturing engineering, assembly operations, equipment integration, production launch, or a related technical environment.
  • Foundational understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, automation, production systems, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to support technical documentation, issue tracking, data collection, design reviews, acceptance testing, installation, commissioning, or operational handoff activities.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to CATIA or similar CAD tools, 3DEXPERIENCE, MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Office.Delmia, Proplanner.
  • Exposure to equipment documentation, risk assessments, acceptance criteria, launch-readiness checklists, or handoff packages.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, control plans, GD&T, equipment safety, ergonomics, maintainability, or production quality requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a production environment.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, reviewing equipment, and supporting assembly or commissioning activities.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 lbs. as needed; heavier lifts may require assistance.
  • Reaching and Bending: Ability to reach, bend, twist, and squat while supporting equipment installation, validation, and production-floor activities.
  • PPE Expectations: Must wear required PPE, which may include safety shoes, gloves, protective sleeves, eye protection, and hearing protection, based on area requirements.

Work Requirement

This role is fully onsite our Phoenix, AZ. Daily in-person presence is required.

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.  Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
